Yeah, I’m sure he’s ‘temporarily adjusted his style’ because he thinks fans don’t like him 🙄 Or, maybe this is how he wants the players to play every week.

72% possession today didn’t seem to be an issue.

It’s oddly quiet in general on here for a match thread..

Systems do not win football matches. Players do.

There are also fans that have been so against the appointment before he’d even walked in the building, that they find negativity in literally anything to prove their point. I’m certainly not ‘desperate to endorse Martin’ - I’m on the fence still with him (I was very much in the out camp after the Leicester game, though alcohol induced rage played its part). I can see what he’s trying to do, he’s very open and honest, he seems to have created a bit of togetherness in the squad that’s been woefully lacking in recent years. I can also understand the reasoning behind the ‘style’ being implemented, we do need to get better with the ball though and the goals conceded at the moment is unsustainable. -

Bednarek came back from Villa, where he barely played (except losing at home to Stevenage) a better player? Charles had a poor game against Preston (after a run out of the team), not sure that constitutes awful. Also good to know that late goals don’t count. Can we use that the other way? If we exclude all the goals we’ve conceded right before half time and in the 15 minutes after half time, we’d be amazing. -
Mocking a fan who’s made the effort to go to an away game up north, when all you do is lurk on a football forum clicking the laugh emoji. Top work.

Did you miss the Leeds game?

Thats fair. In my opinion though KWP isn’t as effective going forward as a LB, so we lose attacking threat from both sides if he moves there. Keep him RB and we still have that threat on his side.
-
Personally I’d rather play KWP right back and fill a hole at left back. Don’t see the logic of weakening two positions rather than one.

Different game, the last minute lambert free kick was in league one I think, 1-1.

We tried to sign another striker (in addition to Stewart), but the Adams deal didn’t materialise so it didn’t happen. I think they hope Stewart will be in full swing by January, when Adams will go. Hadn’t factored in just how shit Adams would be during the intervening period.

Are you aware this is the Ross Stewart thread, where the manager has (very reasonably) asked for patience with him on the back of 9 months out with a very serious injury? Or is this just another opportunity to slag off RM? Only surprise is you didn’t shoehorn criticism for Bazunu into it.

Not really the same is it.

Only one change made to starting lineup in the last three games isn’t it?

I was replying to the point “we’re well off the pace with the squad we have.”

KWP has only looked like he started properly giving a toss in the last few weeks. Sulemana see above, plus no full pre season. Alcaraz looked garbage at the start, starting to seemingly improve. Adams has been dogshit. THB has taken a few games to get up to speed (having not had a full pre season) and is starting to form a good partnership with JB. Worth also remembering that Fraser hadn’t really played for a year before coming here. Plus Downes start was effected by his illness and he now looks like he’s getting up to speed. Its all well and good saying how ‘great’ the squad is, but this wasn’t put together for the start of pre season, it’s going to take a bit of time for it to gel (plus 2-3 players probably still wishing they got a move). Will be interesting to see how the next few weeks play out.

Congrats mate, hope all are doing well and he’s a lucky mascot!

What a crock of sh*t.
-
My favourite bit was when he tried to clean out the Leeds player but was too weak to even make a dent in him, so he had to resort to the shirt pull instead.
-
Maybe in the minority, but understood the Sulemana sub - they had doubled up on Manning and KS wasn’t going to give him the protection needed. Fraser did nowt going forward but defended and tracked back. First half the best I’ve seen there for a long time. Second half felt like they struggled to get back the intensity they had and passes were sloppy. Che was garbage after he came on, don’t recall a pass making it to a teammate and just bounced off him. Leeds were trash. Charles in for Smallbone and Stewart in for CA or SA when fit and that’s a very nice team.

You’re not alone there mate
