  1. Djenepo's cracking performance and speed especially. How he managed to side foot his pass for Long's goal from the byline was quite special. . He is displaying superb skills. With him, Smallbone and others, we have a good future again.
  2. Has he not fairly recently returned from injury? Could have been part of the reason.
  3. Quite right. 'a bit thick' is not an intelligent assessment.
  4. Yes, agree, provided we can afford him and he can still cut it. On loan only though. We need a creative midfielder. Those against him are acting like jilted lovers.

    Villa build up

To be seen soon on Villa's website?: "Southampton are such a one man team it is untrue. Ings has been truly outstanding, but take him out of the game and they really have very little else ... etc" True? Well it isn't quite. Provided Redmond, Boufal, Bednarek, JPR and Armstrong are fit. The whole team have to up their game if we are going to win this. We just can't have any more inept home performances.

  7. But we wouldn't have been stupid enough to get rid of Cedric if we had no Premiership quality backup, surely. Perhaps it was just a loan and we can recall him, - hey ho.
  8. It's so sad that as soon as a manager begins to successfully rebuild the squad, it always seems to be that forces work agains our progress. Our second most experienced defender Cedric has left, weakening the defence, and now it's been reported that Hoj has been touted to leave. It may only be a rumour, but rumours have the effect of unsettling our better players. This isn't what we need. We are still quite a few points from safety and we have to come back from consecutive defeats. I think Ralph could be committed to renew his contract because he loves challenges. But if he is undermined by continually having the best in his squad leave, who wouldn't be tempted when he has made such a positive impression in the Premiership, where big clubs always seek top managers. I do believe that Ralph's heart is with developing our youth players into making Saints a great club again, which is why my money is on Ralph extending his contract. Meanwhile, Charlie, to speculate that Ralph is heading off (you're the first I've read with that suggestion) really does not help. Supporters want to support a club with ambition. So Mr Gao, please show your own commitment to Saints long term future. Selling our best is the path to ruin, so back Ralph!
  9. An honest appraisal. And withouts Cedric we have a weakened defence. A realistic approach to the game, pressurise and hold the midfield, then break for Ingsy. COYR
  10. Sad to see Yoshida go. Of the many loyal land very useful Saints players who probably spent more time on the bench than on the pitch, for me he ranks highly. Maya, I'm sorry we possibly won't see you playing for us again - unless called for in an emergency - but I would love to see you on the last day or the season with the rest of the squad, parading around the ground so that we can say thank you. Thanks for the blocks in front of goal and thanks for some important goals. Good luck for the rest of your career, mate.
  11. You mean change the way we say it? That wouldn't be Saints Web Way.
  12. But surely we are all pitch perfect.
  13. Quite magnificent. And good to know that by resting key players Ralph has a cup run in his sights as well as a good league position. Unlike Koeman.
  14. You know that much?
  15. Ralph had said before the match that he wasn't considering buying a player this month since the team were playing well. I'm wondering if he might be changing his mind following this defeat. We still are vulnerable at the back. Is there anyone out there that would add the leadership in defence that we need?
  16. A defensive and tired Wolves playing deep could make it a difficult game. I'm mostly concerned that Wolves may want to 'reduce' lively Saints, as the media used to say about Southampton in the days of Saints 'Ale House' side. Slightly worried that Ings might end the game limping. I hope I'm wrong. Who s the ref?
  17. Saints don't get a mention in that pre-match review. Hilarious.

    Che Adams

Succinct. The impatience of some on this forum amazes me. Give Che game time from the bench. His service to Ings was crucial against Leicester, and without that we would-be two points worse off. He's got goal drought. So have a good deal of talented and experienced footballers in the Premiership right now.. Even Bale was unimpressive when he first went to Tottenham from Saints. So be patient you supporters.
  19. Agree. Wolves are a tough side. We haven't done well against Wolves recently, and we must not be overconfident nor complacent as a result of our heady recent successes. This is the sort of game that we can win. We want revenge but we will have to work very hard to get this home result. 2-1
  20. This shows the importance of continuity. It would have been madness to have sacked Ralph. Credit to our maligned directors, not to some of our fans.
  21. I'm happy rendered them speechless.

    Che Adams

A goal or two in the FA Cup against Huddersfield could start his season. Play him, Ralph.
  23. At least Son is banned from scoring against us.
