  1. Why drop Ings, who is constantly our most dangerous, successful and all round performer?
  2. Was that Pompey shirt ever found?
  3. KWP or Valery? Both prone to mistakes. I would go for Val for this one simply because he's had one game and therefore may be least nervous. (or should I say, more confident). Valery has good speed which will be important against Arsenal's strikers.
  4. Martinez looks like he will be aiming to make a name for himself in goal. Could be an interesting confrontation.
  5. The new site looks very neat and smart, Steve, but I have to confess that because I have deteriorating eyesight (macular degeneration) I find that I struggle with the smaller lightweight font, especially where greyed. Also I find the increased amount of white space surrounding the type uncomfortably glaring, despite turning the light down on my computer a bit. Sorry to criticise.
  6. We should counter-offer that they take two of our failures as a condition that they sign Hoj at the price we demand plus them. Their insulting 'offe'r' deserves a like reply.
  7. Lacazette & Aubameyang are key to this Arsenal side and can be lethal. So Hoj is structurally essential to the way we play them. Unchanged side. Smallbone can wait for his opportunity as the game progresses. Substitutions are interesting as Arsenal have more strength in depth. I would like to see us over 40 points before we experiment.
  8. It won't happen because Johnson never turns up.
  9. Worth playing Adams imo. He did well pre-season when there were no crowds. This could be the moment.
  10. This. And I'm reminded that we are NOT good at resuming competitive matches after breaks. Keep grounded folks.
  11. No. And what would be the point of training without tackling?
  12. If a reported proposal goes ahead to finish the season with a 'No-Tackling Rule' this has to be a bizarre answer. It would certainly be entertaining (for a while). Seriously, a no-tackling rule would advantage clubs with the better ball players (probably those nearer the top of the tables) at the expense of weaker teams (lower down?) that depend on tough tacking and blocking.. I think no solution aiming to complete this season is going to work. So I would prefer 2019-2020 to be declared ended, with the Premier league positions frozen as they are. And with NO relegations! While the THREE TOP Championship clubs would be promoted to the Premiership, creating a 23 club competition next year. Relegations from the Premiership would be for the FOUR BOTTOM clubs yearly for the next THREE YEARS, until back to 20 Premiership clubs. Promotions then to be as usual. And so on down the divisions. Liverpool could be officially declared 'Champions Elect' or some such title. A new rule to be introduced in case this situation occurs again. (which could happen). That has got to be better than the current impasse. So why not?

    20/21 Kit

I hope that now Gao is on the way out we don't have a logo on shirts that was hastily drawn on the back of an envelope.
  14. What happened to that very round youthful chap that was always being filmed gyrating around when we first moved to St Mary's?
  15. This, Thank you Ronald. I will never forget those two sessions. We were a top class team then and I've never been so proud to be a Saint in London. Get well soon mate. I hope we can see you visiting St Mary's soon.
  16. This doesn't surprise me and doesn't justify smirking. Clubs in severe trouble - and Coventry's bad luck in recent years has been one of the worst - is going to bring the best out of loyal supporters; like here when Saints were at the brink of administration. For me, some of the best times were when we were in League 1. What an atmosphere at St Mary's there was then, and crowds were only around 10,000. Conversely since sitting in the Premiership, Saints Web columns have been noticeably quite cynical and negative in recent years. I'm not surprised we sit at 29th

    Dusan Tadic

    This.
  18. A terrible bit of business by Saints again. I wonder..did Read receive bonuses and were they based on results?
  19. No relagation? Not possible? Don't forget we had similar sentiments in 2007. Beware overconfidence. It will be consistent hard graft that will keep us afloat. We have the talent to survive and achieve two more wins. Play with determination like we often do in second halves - But no more sloppy beginnings Please.
  20. just as he was getting over a family death, this happens. The red looked deserved, but bad luck anyway.
  21. Yes, pity that we didn't make an approach before he signed up to play in the States.
  22. Absolutely. I know Cedric was temporarily injured, but we should have kept him until the end of the season. We were in relegation trouble at the time too (and still could be)
  23. Ralph to the rescue again then.
  24. My heart agrees with you but we need at least a draw to maintain our head above Palace or Brighton. So I'm going for 1-2 for Saints
  25. I like the thought of that after JWP.s excellent display on Saturday.
