I'm a fan of Austin and believe he will be a positive asset to our strike force. However, with all of last season's back four except Jose either departed or injured, this is where we must prioritise, now.
Although a weakened defence will require more goal-scorers to maintain our goals-for balance
Well, all I can say is that we do our best to grow our own footballers, and thrive despite propping up Spurs, 'pool , Arse'n'all who can't survive without poaching our players.
For goodness sake, respected contributors, correct English is
should HAVE, could HAVE, would HAVE, might HAVE.....etc.
I am not a pedant, and make lots of grammatical mistakes, but this always grates.
QPR have rejected Leicester's £12m bid for Austin.
I still think we should sign him. With European matches we don't want to be relying on Pelle all the time up front.
I still think a Charlie Austin goalscorer. Because we will need more goals this season, since our defence, as it stands, is untried and not imo going to be as mean as last season's
Not sure. We tried various attacking combinations to give Pelle a well-earned break because he was getting a bit stale, but goals were generally evaporating. I don't think we should expect JayRod to be an immediate goalscoring machine after such a long layoff following serious injury. And if we are to be able to tempt Toby and others to stay we need to show them how we intend to improve our goals-for tally, otherwise they may well feel the best upward trajectory for them is elsewhere.
I think we've done pretty well with signings-in so far, but feel another top striker would be very beneficial, for the arduous programme ahead.
Get Austin.
