  1. So our minimum target is to finish above 14th place (on current shots to goals evidence) Work to be done there in the training ground.
  2. Perhaps we just don't have enough songs to sing. Nothing other than OWTS since the Potchetino song. Manure have adapted popular catchy hit tunes with their own words. And don't they have a core choir that rehearses songs? So who's going to contact Garry Malone?
  3. It is only a matter of time until he adds to his work rate and passing accuracy by scoring (as he can do) in a Premiership match. When he does, Kaiser Sozlled and other will rate him differently.
  4. So let's do it again to someone
  5. He has the speed that Pele hasn't
  6. Ok, except I'd rather swap positions with Rod on wing and Mane central where he is a dangerous, creative and supportive threat behind Pelle
  7. Insightful, informative and an interesting read. Thank you
  8. So do players have to carry the baggage of forumites disapproval every time they play? Or can they be allowed to start the next game without?
  9. Was it in summertime, or have I got this wrong?
  10. That is the politics of the ludicrous transfer system. Meanwhile he is a Saints player for at least a year. Why cut off your nose etc? Mind, I do believe that players should be docked wages when they refuse to play. Does this happen, anyone?
  11. It would be quite disgraceful of Saints fans to boo Wanyama.
  12. And apparently (I can't remember which newspaper I read it in) we are the only Premier club to have made a profit during the transfer season. £ 0.3 million) Can this be verified? 0.3 million.
  13. It will be a waste of time if Saints only bid around £8mill. Celtic will be happy to wait until January for the sum they want, by which time other clubs will be competing for his signature. We would have lost a great opportunity to improve our team, and perceptions of Saints ambitions will plummet again. His value is £15m, especially if Stones is rated at £25m
  14. very good - but 'He's our bald Terry Hurlock!'
  15. Overlapping and covering are truly weaknesses at present that need to be sorted
  16. Oh dear, I've posted two negative posts, so I'd better make amends. There are positives. Defence better. Cedric getting forward with dangerous crosses. Caulker improving. Romeu impressing. But we are not aggessive enough. We are too timid and languid. What has happened to the neat accurate triangular passing that was such a feature as we moved up the field?
  17. Not Barcelona emulating us with our slow back-peddling hoof and miss tactics/
  18. And fouling a lot as the game continued. This might have been a result of increasing tiredness setting in (not that they showed it) because their work rate was higher and better than ours. So IF we should prove to be fitter on Thursday, expect more fouling and time wasting from the Midts.
  19. We're on the up!
  20. Well at least there was an Academy trained scoring midfielder on the pitch
  21. On my way to Southampton now, and looking forward to an entertaining game and a win! Let's just hope that the team is business-like in defence and not sloppily over-confident, as Midty are a better club than their size suggests and could punish mistakes. 3-2 Saints if they play like against Everton. 2-1 if they concentrate. COYR
  22. I would think 'options to buy after a year' are a dead duck from Saints viewpoint after the Atletico Madrid saga.
  23. Well said, Ronald
  24. Our defence is not proven and while Midtjlland may be a small club, they are doing well in their top tier. That means they are capable of striking for goal, and we are equally capable of making defensive mistakes. Have we not learned the lesson of the folly of over-confidence? I expect us to win, but not without a scare. 3-2 (following the late second half introduction of first team players that had been 'rested')
