  1. Jankewitz in a few seconds built a reputation. He might be the one person in our demoralised squad to scare the opposition.
  2. We need 10 points or ten draws including not losing to clubs below us. . Avoiding relegation means a tough, dour defensive regime like that which we achieved against Chelsea. It won't need to matter how unattractive we look (It hurts to say that). But it has to be done. Then if successful, and we're still in the Prem, next year with a decent summer transfer window to strengthen defence, we can regroup. I love our adventurous pressing style (and we have certainly been unlucky with decisions,VAR and injuries) but pressing seems foolhardy in our present situation when we are so weak at the back.
  3. Ask Tony Pulis and we'll end up with his son as our new manager.
  4. Again, Djenepo or Redmond Amazingly, the defence seems easier to call than upfront. Not too sure who of Ings or Adams is in the better form at present. Never thought I've ever say that. Does Ingsie need a rest.? Also, Redmond's pass to Mo was brilliant, and crucial. It's difficult to drop him after that, and Djenepo may still be suffering from knocks. I'd start with Redders and bring Djenepo on if needed. The draw against Chelsea has uplifted me. I think that whatever system Ralph goes for, we have to be more defence minded for upcoming games until our forwards restore their scoring touch and we've bagged a few more points . Thank goodness for Mo. I
  5. At present, our injury hit squad looks too exhausted and depleted to resist the in-depth strengths of most Premiership teams of the likes of Fulham, Brighton, Newcastle, a resurgent Sheffield U and Newcastle . How we could do with the likes of Hojberg, and defenders shipped out since only twelve months ago. 12 points to safety seem a mighty big hill to climb. We have the talent when players are fit. The squad is so thin that players are rushed back from the treatment too early. That is the problem. KWP's latest injury is a massive problem now. People are quick †o blame players, but give them a break. They need united support from us all †o help them rebuild their confidence after all that's gone wrong.
  6. Why don't you go and support Portsmaouth?
  7. Exhaustion and disruption due to so many key players out. Now they are back and , yes, having to get match sharpness again, but the team are fresher than they have been for weeks. I can'y predict the result, but a draw seems most likely . The team will be on the road back to success!
  8. Simonovic? Long term knee injury? Sounds perfect for us. He can cover for Salisu.
  9. Both us and Wolves are finding it difficult to score . I'm hoping for a 1-0 win. Please, not a drawer.
  10. Since Dean and VAR have been proved to be at fault with the red card decision, is there any likelihood of repealing Che's off-sider goal and reinstalling it?
  11. WE need Ralph more than ever now. We've got the basis of a good squad, just not enough to cover excessive injuries. And a new manager would dismantle what is good, as always happens.
  12. Interestingly, rampant ManU committed 10 fouls with just one booking. Saints committed just 6 fouls with five bookings. Does this tell us anything about Mike Dean?
  13. The Newcastle game comes so soon and we now have only two Premiership defenders available head of inexperienced academy players. Are loan arrangements allowed nowadays in emergencies?
  14. I think the team that has most stamina over 95 minutes will win.
  15. Apart from on BT that I don't have, anywhere else on tv?
  16. I do agree with you. It's been an issue ever since the plans for the stadium were drawn up. The police insist on easy access to coaches and station for away fans., which is why they are where they are. Moving the away fans would require restructuring the stadium. For them to be near coaches it would require them to be located in the corners of Itchen and Northern, and the removal of booking offices. construction of new doorways, toilets and walls. Not easy, sadly.
  17. This is a six-pointer with a fellow top six team. How long since we last had one ? I think we'll draw 2-2. But we are capable of winning if we play like we did against Liverpool !
  18. How good to see Liverhampton flounder without their stolen ex-Saints players (Mane excepted) in the team. How good it was that ex Liverpool player Ings scored the winning goal. You're not having him back, suckers!
  19. Good comments. I've noticed teams seem to be countering our opportunities by setting offside traps. Something Ralph needs to address.
  20. Teams with inexpensive squads (which includes us ) need to think tactically against the big clubs. They usually have several top international players for each position. Whether it be packing the defence, pressing or when to press, options surely have to be planned. We don't yet have strength in depth, and this is going to be the main difficulty in containing Liverpool. Thank goodness Ralph is back shoutmg and cajoling from the touchline.. If we are at our best we can beat them, bu I will be thrilled to play well and not loose, whatever the score..
  21. I would start with Shane, because of his experience and speed. But replace him at half time or around 60 minutes (not 85minutes) if necessary.
  22. Is the match on telly (other than Sky)?
  23. Agree. It has got to be too early to rush and risk Ings -oue most valuable asset- so soon, and when the ground is particularly hard.
  24. I think we were fortunate to be up against Fulham without Romeu and Vestergaard. Imagine if it had been the likes of Aston Villa and those higher up. There were positives from the newcomers, and Long hit a powerful shot on target. Let's hope that Ralph has time to settle and inspire the team before West Ham. We can perform better with the same team , and with changes.
  25. Well said.
