JWP clearly does have talent. You may mean you think he does not have world class talent
-
That's patronising. Logan is a better sports presenter than Lineker.
-
IF we can play as well as we did in the EFL we could win 4-3 without Kane harassing our rookie defence.
-
Another tier on the Northam will be relatively cheap and a no brainer. New stadium, no. We will end up owing billions to whoever the new owners might be, and you can bet that they won't pay for it.
-
We have sold out quite a lot this season, though I don't think we ned a new stadium. But to expand Kingsland to hold another 4,000 or so, as has always been planned, would be am excellent idea.

This was the first thought I had when I first heard that Bournemouth were complaining about the punishment dished out to Mings. Leicester aren't a big club, but they are champions. Did Saints ever complain to the FA that Vardy got off scott-free for a deliberate stamp on our player?
-
Absolutely. Late Sunday and midweek evening games don't have the same atmosphere.
-
That would be sweet, though in a contest that pitches our newly potent strikers against their defence and our newly flawed defence against Kane.... hmmm... 3-3 more likely, and I'll settle for that.
-
That's a bit of a lumpen response if I might say so

Fraser didn't have too many saves to make, that's true, but it was astonishing how the morale of the team jumped when he returned, following some calamitous keeping when he was injured. Do you think that was a coincidence?

It's a balance between aiming for 10th place which will squeeze us into the top half of the table (and make us more interesting for would be transfers in) and nurturing our up and coming talent. I would favour Stephens being given some game time each match. Martin is going to be tested in the under 23's meanwhile and I don't think he should be given priority over Stephens. (But one never knows. In the long run Caceres could surprise us.) I'm concerned that players, supporters and media may slump into thinking mid-table doesn't matter for Southampton. We are not even at 40 points yet. Malaise is dangerous. League position is important.

lol but I didn't say that.
-
Funny how only last year when Forster returned from injury he lifted the whole team, as his form a year ago was brilliant. Anyone remember that?
-
I worry that foreign owners use British clubs to launder dodgy money. Could this happen to us?
-
Has it been explained why Gabbi was taken off? He didn't seem injured. I would have liked Long to be on the pitch with him to keep the pressure on Manure's defenders instead of the other way round. Oh well, all history now. Let's take our frustration out on Watford.
-
But there is a lot to play for. 10th place for starters. And we have scores to settle with clubs above us, because we believe we are better than many of the clubs up there. I am very much looking forward to the run-in to end of season now that we have a genuine striker at last, beginning with Watford.
-
Interesting, but what evidence is there that he is good enough and also fit enough for 90 minutes - as cb?

Someone looking like Paul Allen was rumoured to be in Winchester last week.

I think it's going to be fascinating to see how Holbjerg/Romeu and JWP/Romeu combinations work in the coming weeks now that we only have league position to play for. I thought in the EFL JWP contributed to the fluency that dominated Manure, but perhaps a revitalised Hojbjerg is better against cloggers. I'm looking forward to the next matches.
-
Hojbjerg has played terribly since January, whilst JWP and Romeu were terrific against Manure, so why change? I'd like to see Long come on at some point when Gabbi is on the pitch, as he should have done on Sunday. Puel missed a trick there. And not sure about Hassen, though Fraser does need resting.

Sat in the Jubilee Line tube surrounded by Man Utd fans. They to a man said that Saints were really unlucky and were by far the better team. And full of praise for the way that we have done over the seasons since losing so many top players. Didn't help much, but praise for the way we played is all that we have to remember. And we will never forget that.

What an amazing afternoon and atmosphere at Wembley. Looking down from the heights of the stands Saints swarmed all over the pitch and had United on the rack. But a dodgy lino and a disastrous January transfer lost us this match. With Fonte in the back four I believe our defence would have held. How much longer can Saints survive our 'short term sell for profit' policy? Every player did his best and they were magnificent. If we had gone to extra time I think we would have won. Guys , you did us so proud.

Anyone noticed any American yachts in port lately?

Puel sounds like he was a quality defensive midfielder. I don't suppose he can fill in for CB?

I've got my two tickets for me and my son, but relatives weren't so lucky. What's the price range for Club Wembley tickets? Does one have to become a member?
