There have been times recently at home matches when it's seemed that there were a lot of tools on the pitch.

Which club could settle for a 2/3rd of a choice? doh....... us?
-
Shades of last year's dithering. I hope it won't be Puelson.
-
Chris Coleman could dajfu

Whatever, we can't keep changing managers every year. That will lead to replacing managers very few months, and we know where that led.

Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
eelpie replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
That can't be done because it's Les's way. -
It seems to go up a million every time he scores a goal.

Players a bit worried with where the club are heading !?
eelpie replied to simo's topic in The Saints
Quite wrong. They've been running on at the start of matches clutching pillows. -
SFC waits until season tickets are purchased before selling star players?
-
"we have ended all interest in the player" 'but we're signing him anyway, so there.'
-
Especially after the humiliating boasts of how cheaply Mane was acquired from Southampton. Never let us be made to look suckers again, Les.
-
Nevertheless it has to be a good thing that we secure our replacements before selling our quality players - provided the replacement is as good or better - AND WE DON'T SELL CHEAPLY, AS WE DID LAST YEAR.

He sounds more like a jigsaw piece than a football manager

5% interest on loans to a club in continuous profit seems not a bad return for an owner these days.

It's good to be considered a well run, ambitious club and admired for our 'stability', but I remember Gordon Strachan saying he admired another team - Leicester - for the same reasons and because they were frequently comfortably mid-table. Fortunes change easily. Not long after Gordon made that remark we were relegated and Leicester too were back in the championship. Let's not go back to the bad days of changing managers too regularly. Nothing good will come of that.

I hope they do. and more importantly, sp long as we can end above them, Bournemouth and Brighton on goal difference, that's all that matters.

The Virgin logo is far too big, though the red liniar design on white background is better. The red virgin blobs are horrible.I strongly feel that club colours should never be over-dominated by any sponsor.

For the life of me I cannot understand anyone disliking a whole nationality. This is not particularly directed at you, Ducks, but all the rest making similar silly generalisations on this thread. I do hate all duck hunters though
-
I believe that 13th was the position that has been discussed - not relegation. Don't over-react.
-
I tend to agree that major decision won't be made before the takeover - if it happens. Btw Puel has been getting the brunt of the criticisms, but imo Black has as much contact with the players in the training ground, so surely he is as responsible for our inconsistency on the pitch, especially during home games.

Choice: Saints finish 2017 season 8th but Boring, or 13th and Exciting
eelpie replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
In my opinion it's irrelevant whatever position we ended the season at, though thank goodness we weren't relegated. What is important is how we build on what has or has not been achieved. We could have ended up an exciting 13th, yet once again find optimism dissipate when key players are flogged (for cheap bucks again) to the rich clubs during the summer. Or after a boring 8th place when goals have been scarce, it might be clearer to Les and co at last just what they realistically have to do in the transfer market to repair and improve both team and management styles, because we have too often performed well below our capabilities. I wish I could be hopeful. -
Please be more specific. How exactly is JWP useless in you opinion? Does he not have any good skills in you opinion?
-
I blame the disc jockey. We've been atrocious at home since those dreary, dreary, badly sung drones have started home games.
-
Clearly some players have made progress, Stephens notably.

The whole Wembley experience by a mile. And this being the moment of the match. Close second has to be the magic of 30,00 phone torches from the Saints stands celebrating Gabbi's goal. Same again next year please.
