Let's hope he doesn't get injured otherwise all those with doubts will never know how good he could be.
-
Yes, what happened to our chant 'We're Saints we play on the ground?'
-
Good advice. (I assume you mean look long, not Long.)
-
Should Les cave in and sell VVD to Liverpool today he will receive massive condemnation and outrage from all Saints fans, like never before. DON'T SELL TO LIVERPOOL.
-
That's a typically malign bit of Sun anti-Saints mischief-making. Also comes with a cynical attempt to rebuild it's disastrous relationship with Liverpool fans. Wild cheap[ journalism without basis.
-
Don't go overboard with your praise, now.

We surely can only be as stable as our average results allow. And as far as our recent home average reveals, we ain't scoring goals. So I can't see us as stable yet. But I agree, Kate has done us proud. Les too has finally come up with the transfers-in, that we sorely lacked at this time last year. So it's up to players and coach now. There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to maintain a top ten position. Thanks so much, Kate. We all owe you.

Then name the proposed extra seating stand the Markus Liebherr Stand

Much to like here.

Oh dear. Bring in Matt Le Tiss to teach them core shooting skills.
-
We're eighth again already with a goal difference of 0.
-
I think he will.

We've won something already!

I was there and it was an entertaining match with a lot to savour.. Sevilla began by bossing Saints with their slick, fast passing but defenders tackled well and kept them at bay. We were livelier and more confident when attacking, putting in some fluid movements using the width of the pitch. Players were getting forward and testing their keeper in ways not seen at the end of last season. The game did flag in the middle of the second half but picked up again after the substitutions around 60 minutes and we ended strongly despite a Sevilla revival, young Flanagan being a revelation. MP was active and vocal on the side. Notably he was encouraging more positive diagonal - not sideways - passing. Some promising individual displays. On the evidence there will be healthy competition for places., while some of our stars like Redmond on today's display will need to up their energy and concentration to keep their places. A word for Forster. Get off his back, fellers. He put in a good display and encouragement from the crowd, not childish ironic jeering, will see him back to his best.

I think that Sevilla had something to do with our sporadic pressing. They are a slick, fast passing side and we did well to break them up, sporadically, true, but effectively. And it is the first time that we have played our near best team. So credit to the team for keeping a confident Sevilla team at bay in the first half. I came away hopeful that if Mauricio can install better consistency than the team achieved last season then we will have a decent season ahead.

Yes, but it was only pre-season lol

A bit worrying and reminds me of the time before our relegation when we had acquired a surplus of medium quality players that weren't even good enough in the Championship.
-
But, if Mane sulked and forced a move for less than what Klopp paid - and after Klopp gloating how cheap he got Mane from us - that would be very sweet. Won't happen but I like the idea of Liverpool fans sweating.
-
Watching Hoedt he looks very good, as good as VVD. And can score too. Buy him first, then sell VVD for an overall profit. NOT the other way round. Let the profit at Liverpool's expense (again) be our reward. Onwards we march.

JWP is another player that gets unfair criticism. Against Brentford without him on the pitch we were leaden-footed at times and lacking ideas.
-
Good post Like most players Boufal will do best if encouraged. He has so much talent. Fair criticism always helps but some on this site like to gang up on individuals which is pointless and self defeating, and I hope that doesn't happen with Boufal. Hopefully the manager will get that extra from him. I'm looking forward to seeing Boufal emerging as a major force this season. He certainly showed some silky skills against Brentford.
-
What's happened to Paul Mitchell? Doesn't he have a problem with Spurs now? Wasn't he put on gardening leave? Perhaps we should try to get him back.
-
But if he doesn't play to his best, how is he going to get the move to a top rich club that he so badly wants?
-
Something like this. I also think the Brentford game was the poorer without JWP in midfield.
