Redmond I meant - even forgotten his name lol

All of those in historic order, but mostly I think we would have kept momentum had not Les Read sold Mane and Pele without replacing at least one of them with an experienced effective striker, instead of gambling with Austin and Redmane. We will never know how we might have done last year had Puel had an effective striker up front. (Though we might get an idea watching Leicester this season.) For me Defoe would have been the goalscorer (albeit temporary given his age) that we never had. Where did it start? Koeman's words "Saints (ie Les) lack ambition" ring very true now,

Davis has to be preferred instead of Hod. He never lets up and chases everything. We need his determination, versatility and all round attacking link play in midfield
-
So what has happened to Sims. Is he injured?
-
I want him back. I want to sing Oh... Olomola
-
What has Yosh done to be given the chop?
-
He arrived at Saints, a club without an established striker. He goes to Leicester who have Vardy. What he might have achieved here if Uncle Les had given him a decent striker. So let's see what might have been before we sneer.
-
Well said. And Les deserves some credit for getting Koeman here during that very difficult time when Poch et al had abandoned ship. Koeman brought in Mane and created a decent team. Let's not forget that. In those months Saints rose from the ashes of a summer of near despair. It didn't always go well for Koeman in the following months but we played some exciting football often (how I miss that now) and achieved a high spot confounding many, including Lawrenson and co.

Is it true that Everton are after MoPo since he's guided Saints to the giddy heights of midfield? (No I made that up of course)
-
Well he left us because we didn't have enough ambition, so that narrows the field
-
I hope Lawrence is right for once. 0-3 JayRod hat trick to prove most of us wrong
-
The way we are going they may well finish a division above us.
-
All may have been very different had Les backed Puel up by supplying him and us with a proper replacement for Mane in August/September 2016 instead of gambling on untried strikers.
-
I'm happy with that.
-
Come on Les, it makes good business sense. You know he won't be expensive.....
-
It concerns me too. Right now 40 points seems a long way off. And we really need 45 to be sure of surviving in this league.
-
An emotional response. We can't keep changing managers every time we're experiencing bad spells. We should have learned that lesson when we were relegated, and so be warned.
-
As Gabbi isn't as sharp as he was pre-injury, wouldn't it be better to have Gabbi in front? Long has the speed to create openings for Gabs from any forward position. And Gab is more likely to put the ball into the net than Long.
-
Then he's a tree who can direct the ball between posts when others aim for open spaces. O for a Terry Paine to supply accurate crosses to a striker in the box.
-
So basically, considering our home form 0-1
-
This reads like you support footballers achieving astronomic wages.
-
About running, Matt Le Tiss wasn't exactly energetic. He knew where to be when it was necessary. Gabbi and Austin both have this quality. Long does have the skill to open up defences, it's true. So build the team around goalscorers and providers
-
I really do feel that Rickie still has a role with us. Not a permanent position, but as an occasional goalscoring tutor to all our players, and at all levels. Rickie has a lifetime of experience, training tips and personal footballing techniques that are invaluable. Whyever not?

Yet we had 70% possession overall and more shots attempted So the result is more than poor. MoPo's hopeful experiment with Long being preferred to Gabbi up front has dismally failed.
