We need to see a robust defensive strategy . Otherwise high goal deficits will dictate this season again. I would almost be prepared to see Puel back here if Ralph and Gao can't sort it.
-
What colour shirt are we playing in?
-
I'd like to hope for this, however we are a team with some players not used to Premiership football. Enthusiasm over experience? Perhaps. Perhaps. More likely we weill concede at least one goal. My prediction remains a cautious 1-1 with Walcott the scorer..
-
As a result of pressure from SFC?
-
I' also interested to see I'm also interested to see how our established players react to our lively, talented young arrivals. I'm expecting positive competition for places. I don't see a sudden transformation in fortunes, so I hope our critical fans will show patience and positivity as it could surely take time for the team to gel. I'm optimistic - I wasn't a couple of weeks ago.

It's brilliant news. Just what we need to raise our spirits before our first Premiership match. Onwards and Upwards now.
-
Richarlison might be brought on in the second half for a few minutes. So new lads, keep him well covered.
-
So at least a draw against Everton is going to be important. 1-1
-
We have some tough fixtures to start so we might be struggling. But sometimes it's better to have time to fix faults early in a campaign, than like last year. I'm predicting a better second half of the season as our younger players become more experienced.
-
That's a decent squad, since JWP is injured. I expect us to score one goal. The rest is up to our new defence. 1-1
-
I could not agree more.
-
I'm very pleased. We've now signed two decent defenders, each with potential, followsing Bertie's departure with Vesty lightly to leave. More to do, but after a quiet pre-seasson, we can build. Well done Saints.
-
Better than we're doing so far.
-
I'm happy to complicate cocky Villa's search though.

Laser penning players is far, far more serious than booing, despicable as that is. Nothing is to stop these Laser penning morons from packing stadiums . Good bye Football. What is the answer?

Despite Kane's poor form I'm puzzled by the difference between this England team and the one that played such exciting, adventurous football in Southgate's World Cup squad. I think we have better players here now, so why play cagy defensive football? I understand that having qualified for the next round Southgate wanted to protect players from injury, but scoring only one a match is not going to have much impact in the knockout stage. For goodness sake, let's go down playing exciting football!

Coming from a lower division, how do you think he compares with Che Adams who was scoring for fun with his former club, Birmingham?
-
Probably the most dire commentary I've ever heard. No descriptive skills whatsoever.
-
This. What was the real reason that Matty left? He wasn't the fastest , but his positional play. tackling, crosses and attacking skills were better than many, and much better than our reserve replacements. So why did he leave?
-
Oh dear. The club ain't very good at psychology are they. Bad omen..
-
But what a great defence we had then. That is the difference.
-
Absolutely agree For heaven's sake..
-
True. They're ten more goals for and ten fewer goals against. And they are extremely well organised in every department, unlike us. But we are playing better again and if Ings is in top form I think we can scrape am entertaining 3-3 draw. Expect Tella to score.

There are too many dangerous, unsubstantiated rumours about a 'he'. Be careful. Mods, what is SW policy?

Two teams whose status is now decided. .Both consider that they are better than their current positions deserve, and have something to prove to themselves and their supporters. Both teams on their day are capable of beating the other I'm expecting a good game.
