  1. Good job the kit doesn't have hats.
  2. As I said before, his new club Leicester are running away with the League 1 Championship, while we are heading for relegation. He took over Saints when we were totally demoralised and revived our fortunes, well just enough to escape relegation. Gates were soaring and we ended the season on a high. He took over Leicester when they were totally demoralised and in dissaray and has transformed them in a few months. So the evidence of his capabilities is pretty strong. Compare with us today. The exact opposite has happened. Lowe and Poortvliet took over a club relatively revived and optimistic. Now we are floundering, sinking and gates are down. Case rested. Regarding the your point about talent. Pearson would not have disregarded the talent we still have on our books. And we was introducing young players into the team. He would have been able to manage with a smaller squad, because he is pragmatic, inspiring and knows his trade better than our present amateurs.
  3. Yes, but replacing talent with unusable mediocrities is bl**dy pointless
  4. Well, Leicester look like they are going to pass us on the way up while we look like we are going down
  5. .... we could not afford Pearson. I cannot believe that Pearson was more expensive than the combined wages of JP, Wotte and Dean Gorre. I cannot believe that the combined wages of our current large playing staff of has-beens and inexperience is more than a smaller, more experienced and skilful squad could be. It makes me angry.
  6. We were heading for relegation until Hoddle arrived. Check out the results. And why were fans so angry when he left for Spurs? Because he was doing alright here. Much of the anti-Hoddle anger is because he jilted SFC. Not because he was crap as a manager. If he were here now we wouldn't be in this mess. Incidentally Lowe can be blamed for not renewing Pearson's contract imo, but not for failing to get Hoddle back, which was bowing down to pressure from fellow directors and angry supporters. I admit I didn't want Hoddle to return, not because he was not a good manager, but because I thought his presence would be divisive. How ironic. However all that doesn't help us in our current plight. I wonder what Wotte's views on Poortvliet's tactics are? Is he the solution?
  7. How could -arry motivate others when he was demotivated himself?
  8. He saved us once.
  9. Dyer should return. He and BWP on a good day are the only ones who have the pace to out-speed retreating defences. Bring back Stern John too and we have a target man again - who, unlike MCG, can actually outjump defenders. Then Lallana can play to his strengths in the hole. I guarantee that this would improve our shocking goal-scoring record.
  10. I heard that he and Michael Wilde have been the same person since the real Michael Wilde ran away with Lord Lucan.
  11. er.. wasn't he the only goal scorer?
  12. Over the top. Were you there? If not, you need to see them before over-reacting. If you were there, fair comment perhaps, but I await others appraisals. Saints general team work is good and improving imo when I have watched them. Our attack is simply weak. Not sh**te. But Lowe has to address this. On his head... Meanwhile .. Bu**er!
  13. Lowe HAS to address our weaknesses in attack in January. But well done Bradley. Without you we would have lost!
  14. Just possibly, the fans who haven't watched Saints recently - for whatever reason - might see something they like... and come again. Who among us have never had spells away from St Mary's from time to time? (Answers on a postcard, please)
  15. Thank goodness it's not another banana skin game (for us)
  16. Meanwhile, back at last-chance saloon, I am optimistic that we can stay up and avoid relegation which would certainly pre-empt administration imo - PROVIDED Mr Lowe does not sell off ANY of todays team in January - the team that has gone several games without defeat. It is up to Rupert. After better performances he now has the ammo to talk positively to the bank. If attendances continue to steadily improve that would help him too.
  17. What a turnaround. Fans couldn't wait for KD to be replaced in goal when he came here. Now we are nervous he might be moved on.
  18. yep, he will definitely get older.
  19. Wash your mouth out this minute
  20. OK, a good point and great fighting spirit, and well done the defence. But the strikers MUST start scoring. We have always had the benefits of at leat one regular goal-scorer most seasona. Without contributions by Beattie, Rasiak, John and Saga our results then would look as sick as our home form does today. We went down when Beattie left. The warning signs are out there.
  21. miserable s*d. Money won't bring happiness. lol
  22. I do support the team, and have always praised their improving skills, passing rate and teamwork. The defence does seem to be getting better, but we still have no strategies for breaking down a resolute, organised, stonewalling defence such as Plymouth have, who fell back whenever Saints came near, particularly in the second half on Tuesday. They had a solid wall of seven men abreast in front of their very able keeper. We need someone with height and build capable of outleaping the opposition and able to head the ball in. We have no-one who can do this reasonably consistently other than on-loan John and Rasiak. Our existing frontmen (with the possible exception of the young and untried Jamie White) are never going to match them, I am afraid, and it has to be addressed before it is too late.
  23. I'm too late to poll, but I remember David Peach who is an under-rated player imo. His 34 goals in 224 appearances included the great FA cup run, too. So whatever happened to him? For me he is a true legend. How about a poll for only those who watched Saints pre Wayne Bridge, for a more reflective judgement?
  24. They probably support Sky Sports and feel miserable.
