  1. We had this debate a few months ago, and I believe it was pointed out that there would still be a further points deduction next season. Can anyone clarify?
  2. I just thought I'd add another possible potential manager to the brew, since we don't have much positive to talk about these days. http://www.soccerbase.com/managers2.sd?managerid=1802 McAllister's record at Leeds isn't bad, really. A 50% win record. Much improved since he managed Coventry six years ago. Thoughts?
  3. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11117 A bit of motivation from the coach during matches would not go amiss. And if Jan does not have answers in front of the box, he should stand aside for someone who does. The time has come for a realistic appraisal.
  4. We need to have all our players currently out on loan back, so that the best possible team can be rebuilt from resources we already own. The disastrous experiment has had it's day.. The whole squad needs to be rethought from scratch.
  5. I thought we were supposed to be improving as the season progressed and the lads got more experience.
  6. tut, tut. Rupes will have to close the corporate corners.
  7. "We didn't have enough power to give them a difficult time " Really? Well I never.
  8. He will blame the next coach.
  9. So right! The time has come for The Messiah
  10. Absolutely spot on. Duck off Lowe!
  11. The system has failed. Lowe despatched our better players when he took over. Pearson worked a system that best suited their abilities. That is what managers and coaches do. We ain't doing that now. Lowe out!
  12. Exactly. - but we own contracts for strikers capable of ten goals each per half season. The system should accommodate them. Not the other way round.
  13. and take their failed experiment with them
  14. So how little or large is he? In would prefer Lita any day for a knockdown £400,000
  15. About time The Echo told the truth about Saints. So what has happened between the local press and Rupert? They seem to be very itk. Clairvoyant too: "Many of the players who have left St Mary’s since Poortvliet’s arrival would still have left under Pearson, such was the state of the finances. The youngsters who have formed the nucleus of Poortvliet’s squad would have done the same under Pearson"
  16. I think the only win will be against Man U.
  17. Fair points. But just to say that the thread is not intended to get at anyone who can't attend for any reason. I can't get to Tuesday and Thursday evening matches myself for the same reason, I am working then.
  18. Your last sentence hits the nail on the head. The management need to show supporters positive determination and resolve, so that we can still believe we have a footballing future. Selling our best players will destroywhat faith we have left. Keeping our best and playing the likes of Saga and John from January will give us hope. Current flaky experiments are just wishful thinking.
  19. Do we have more than one?
  20. I am. (But not without forebodings. But then, perhaps this will be the match when DMG scores and the kids lose their fear of playing at St Mary's) I reckon the Forest fans are looking forward to the match)
  21. ...and either John or Rasiak were to return in January - and we did not sell our best of the current squad, would you be more likely to return to watching Saints? I believe we have always had the resources to field a decent, entertaining and successful (goal-scoring) team. (Not getting at you guys for missing games, it's just a thought). I reckon that if we fielded our best team, results and attendances could significantly improve. And morale would be much higher. COYR!
  22. The priority must be to bring back our talented pros currently out on loan, and to rebuild the first team with the best of the players that we own - a proper mix of youth and experience. Sending our best strikers out on loan has been a complete disaster. ringing them back will stretch our finances even further but it has to be done. If Billy Davis for example were to take over the squad we wouldn't be able to afford them. Davis would not have a decent squad to work with. We currently can't afford the best players we already have AND Davis. (Not that I wouldn't object to him kicking arses here right now.)

  24. Unfortunately Lowe, Barclays and the club are currently interlocked into a dance of death. How can they be extricated? Heavens knows. The only realistic hope is that Lowe rethinks his strategy of selling our best hopes of survival and is able to persuade the bank of the wisdom of sticking with our best players, including those out on loan, until the END OF THE SEASON. Survival in this division is the priority and the only way to stave off administration which will be inevitable imo if we are relegated. There seems to be no alternative to Lowe at THIS moment - and how it hurts to say this. So pragmatically it would be more productive for everyone to mount a serious, powerful campaign aimed at Lowe for the coach to be allowed to use ALL of the resources we own. Saga, Rasiak, John. Each capable of scoring ten goals between now and the end of the season! How they have been missed! Even one of them could make the difference. And we MUST keep Surman, Lallana, Cork, Rasiak and Schneiderlin. We do own the basis of a very decent CCC side. The stupidity must stop! It is time Lowe stood up to the bank and rethinks his failed strategy, recalls our experienced pros and rebuilds the team together with the best of our younger players.
  25. There is little chance of us scoring goals with our current weak attack hampered by fuzzy tactics. When players get near the box they lack purpose and power, and simply cannot shoot straight.
