Uncle Les is also a hypocrite. Match his words with actions.
-
And Barclays foreclosed our account anyway.
-
Miracles don't happen any more
-
If he doesn't have pace, what use will he be to us?
-
What with? More midfielder and defenders?
-
He was referring to the long lamented Southampton Way which since Cortese left was replaced with Read's ' My Way' which is to make poor decisions. We may be an expensively assembled squad, but the components do not work together as well as they should.
-
Come back Cortese. All is forgiven
-
We don't want to know that Les.
-
Quite honestly, romancing on any signings is pointless unless our new owner sacks the hapless Les Read and appoints someone that can re-enthuse players and fans with the vision we had when Marcus Liebherr saved SFC. Right now I would welcome Cortese and a new five year plan again. Even Pardew.

It does remind me of frequent quotes made during our relegation year. Easy going managers and trainers will always be quoted as being popular, but this does not necessarily mean respected. When Gordon Strachan became manager, his first summer training was particularly gruelling hard work for the players. But they became fit and he was respected. Then we went downhill after he left because of sloppy management and training by a succession of 'popular' incompetents. Let's hope that our next manager and assistants that Les appoints have the drive, skills and character that Strachan had.
-
We're not fortunate that we have become one of them
-
I can't see MP learning by his mistakes. He is a serial mistake maker. It may soon be too late to replace him. He must be gone before the January window, to give time for the new manager, whoever he is, to purchase replacements to the team that we have been highlighting for some time. And Black has to go at the same time too.
-
So who are the three or four teams that are worse than us? I've noticed that clubs who find themselves in trouble in the first half of the season but take practical steps to analyse and address the problem with realistic pruning and signings (such as Everton, Leicester, and a rejuvenated Crystal Palace) are the teams that are most likely to survive. Meanwhile Les dithers while morale throughout our squad is on a downwards path. Not good.
-
Why? They will only be played out of position.
-
Well, we've learned three things. We Saints fans are not Premiership quality. We haven't a clue when it comes to judging the quality of football managers. Puel is better than Southampton Football Club.
-
I bet Vardy jumps on both VVD's ankles on Wednesday. To prove he meant it first time.
-
No mention of Mr Puel there who has just won three games on the trot at Leicester. Now that's a manager who knew how to organise a team. (I put my body armour on before posting that)
-
So that's the boardrooms and hospitality rooms sorted then. Upgrading the west stand will be sometime at a very distant future date. So don't be in hurry to know about Northam and Itchen.
-
We have won points off them before
-
Four points from five games. Not good enough to avoid relegation
-
Quite good. But I far we'll leave it till the last game, since we are so brittle. And we don't have Le Tiss on the pitch this time.
-
I'm increasingly interested to see how we play ageists Puel's Leicester now. Will we play like we did this match - or regress to playing Pellegrino's Puel imitation style?
-
What a relief. The bigger club one, lol.
-
Perhaps we should build the team around Austin. Go back to the old goal-poaching centre forward style of olden days. At least Austin is able to poke the goal between the posts, compared to everyone else other than Davis and Yoshida. Oh dear, whatever happened to the exciting free-scoring free-conceding style of the Southampton way?.
-
You exaggerate. It was not all the rage to bring in Austin to replace Pele.
