  1. Running in sand is a well known technique by athletes. The Aussie John Landy broke Bannister's 4 minute mile record by training to run up and down sand dunes. Perhaps we should train with the Bournemouth squad.
  2. Good point, but too obvious, so I doubt it.
  3. No, Coleman manages Coventry who beat us. But, the good news is that Lita is not leaving Reading, so he will score a few against our rivals.
  4. I believe Folly wanted away, as did Blackstock and Best. Not sure about Griffit, though he was very good at times, but erratic. I wish we had kept them all though.
  5. Possibly a correct assumption.
  6. Wait till the end of the window for your answer, Alps. That's when we do the knee-jerk deals, for good or bad.
  7. I am concerned that our current wage bill may be higher than quoted. We have promoted several Academy players, presumably on low wages, which is a good gamble/investment imo. However we are paying for too many players who are under-used or surplus to requirements. I am thinking of Gasmi, Pulis, and possibly Bart in particular. Then there are the long term injured who don't have a realistic future here (Poke,Thomas, Killer and those who are expensive (Euell, Saga? BWP?). We already have a squad of 35 players. One or two players have to go before the end of January (and we are used to last minute shocks). The question is, come February 3rd, will we have a more balanced and efficient team or not?
  8. The post of the week.
  9. What I don't understand is why, if shops etc were the stumbling block at Stoneham, Lowe did not incorporate similar for St Mary's. The Madjeski's hotel does not take up more of a 'footprint' than St Mary's, for example, and provides useful revenue for Reading FC.
  10. Ok. I hope it doesn't happen, but if we were to call in the administrators, who are the firms that we would default on? We would lose confidence and reputation among traders and make it more difficult for firms to want to do business with whatever company emerges from SLH/SFC post admin. (Incidentally, how much do we owe the Inland Revenue?)
  11. So Lowe's hope of leading us to the promised land via the Academy looks increasingly unlikely.
  12. Matt Paterson Well if he's good enough for Rangers, he should be one for the future here. We always let potential stars go for peanuts, then regret it.
  13. Their home record is as bad as us, only six goals, though they have scraped four wins.
  14. I don't agree.
  15. I'll never forget Pahars great games for us, and his last lap of honour when he had tears in his eyes. He never wanted to leave. A true Saint who was never appreciated enough imo, due to his many injuries. Remember the best, not the worst.
  16. MacDougall. That brings back memories. He is the most forgotten striker.
  17. You could fill St Mary's with water and open a Titanic theme Park. .. and we have a captain who could go down with the ship.
  18. No, it was disastrous.
  19. Rupert Lowe GWS Saint Robbie The Precious one

  21. A home win sure won't do us any harm. I missed the only one this season, so the last one I saw was the last match of last season. Incredible. It's high time it happened for us again. Meanwhile, well done you guys. Keep up the momentum.!
  22. Bring back Rasiak. All is forgiven!
  23. Everyone is lovely
  24. Sky said Saints had more possession in the centre, but no impact in the final third of the field - (until the 75th minute)
  25. Big hearted Ron. We are with you. Get better soon.
