Training with a hangover? Don't be silly.
  2. Can we get back to topic folks?
  3. So far a large majority vote for not going into administration. While on the other poll 86% believe relegation is inevitable. Curious. That suggests that we unanimously believe that we can survive League 1 with or without a ten points deduction. The Spirit of Southampton is not dead! Or are we just ostriches?
  4. Molyneaux is the weakest link. Should Voltan be on the subs bench?

My question was specific to any night before a match, not specifically before a game that has been cancelled, which is ok imo. And do the curfews still exist?
  6. But nickh, do you think that IF we are relegated, with your knowledge of SFC finances, we can financially survive in League 1? That is the burning question.

Wotte says in the OS: "I don't mind if players go out all together if it's a team thing, but I don't want them to go out on Friday night if there's a training session on Saturday morning. I have told this to the players". I would have thought that not going out late the night before a match would be enshrined in contracts. So many times during the last few seasons we have heard of this happening. Is lax discipline a root course of our decline?
  8. This is the view I subscribe to. Beginning with minus 10 points in League 1 is unthinkable.
  9. But do you think that -if relegated - we could financially survive in League 1?
  10. He would be a good loanee. He is an experienced and successful striker in the CCC. He is surplus to Wenger's immediate requirements, who has said he needs to go out on loan. And Bendtner doesn't mind toughing it with defenders.
  11. Rupert's experiment has failed. Even the Echo says so. 86% of diehard supporters on this forum believe that relegation is now inevitable. So the burning question is, can we survive administration in League 1? 1. If not, should we go for administration now, before relegation is a mathematical certainty, and while there is still time for 10 points to be deducted THIS season, not next? Or 2. Should we gamble on not having to call in the administrators, and not having 10 points deducted next season? Poll? A difficult decision needs to be made now.
  12. ...worrying about Total Football and the revolutionary new management set up.
  13. Hiddink hails Wotte "I think he is perfect for the Southampton job because he has a strong character and is very self confident," Hiddink said. "Mark is one of the best coaches over the past 20 years in Holland and I have a lot of respect for him."
  14. And Rupert Lowe confirms that The Daily Mail are our new owners.

Perhaps that is the cunning plan.
  16. So disappointed. I thought this was going to be a Joy of Sex thread.
  17. Is that why I can't remember what a left back is? I can't remember what a right back does, either. It's so long since I've seen either.
  18. Burley lost interest after his best players Bale and Jones departed. His last half season was poor. He left the team dispirited. D&G left them in a shambles. Pearson had to rebuild confidence and try out different team combinations resulting in some more heavy defeats, true, before we were able to begin to see the results of a better performing side. He was doing a decent job. Early results do not compare with results over a longer period of time, and this is also true of Wotte. But we are in a much more critical situation now. Wotte has very little time to get the results we need. I hope he does. Do you think he will?
  19. It really doesn't matter if we mortals recall Pearson as the messiah who was spurned. The fact is, he was doing a decent job. Was a good motivator. Wanted to be here. And he could have done a much better job than those brought in to replace him. Circumstantial evidence is that we would have performed better with Pearson. That's good enough for me. That's enough for me to be very angry with Lowe's cazy decisions. I envy Leicester's good fortune. Good luck to them. But I will never forgive Lowe.
  20. I seem to remember quite a few posters including you, GM, making this point when he first came onto the scene. We didn't want to know, of course. He was the messiah coming to oust Lowe.
  21. What is a left back?
  22. I do hope you are right. The ball is literally at the players feet.
  23. Dyer is continuing to thrive at Swansea, providing the cross for Scotland's second goal. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7867299.stm It was fortunate that he wasn't able to play against us. But imo a pity that his detractors weren't able to see him in another team. They might be re-appraising their knee-jerk dismissal of his skills now. How we could do with him during the next weeks.
  24. Will the Portsmouth Board be idiots if they are not relegated? It does look as though they will be appointing an experienced manager. At least they are learning by their mistake of appointing from within (I say enviously)
