  1. Bournemouth They survived. They will be our local team
  2. As supposedly happened when Allen was alledgedly interested in Saints until Bale was sold.
  3. Cheers - sounds, like Saints, you are in deep water.
  4. ... and still came back. What is this magnetic attraction that we peasants have for Rupert?
  5. We had better stop being patronising towards Bournemouth. They survived their points deduction. We have yet to do this and could well be playing them in League 2 in a couple of seasons. There again they could well leapfrog us into League 1. Or we might not even exist and they become our local team. Happy days
  6. Plus a few bob for Chivers

    Stern John

Why the implication that he was unsuccessful here? He scored the goal that kept us up two seasons ago, and would undoubtedly have scored enough goals to have kept us up here last season (imho).
  8. In order of importance (imho): Manager first Players second Ground third But none of course any good with a crap MD
  9. The next thread
  10. The closest to Southampton is Harlequins and their ground is in Twickenham (the Stoop).
  11. Just a coincidence?
  12. The figures prove otherwise. But St Mary's is a very pleasant stadium. That is not my point.
  13. So sad. RIP and deepest condolences.
  14. I don't agree about the stadium. It is a very bad design. Very pleasant to be in, true, but the raking of the stands are not steep enough and so St Mary's lacks the intimidating atmosphere that The Dell did have, and even Poopey's stadium has. At Reading, for example, the steep tiers of the Madjeski have been of great benefit to their team, but at St Mary's our stadium has not been beneficial to us. Results prove this. Consequently we have never really had the same home advantage that we had at The Dell, which imo cost us valuable points, and that cost us two relegations.
  15. We are so rich we could have turned down £30,000, which is the minimum that the cancelled (postponed?) All-Stars match could have made. (It could have paid for 100 hours of Fry's time.) http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11761 But they didn't consult us on suggestions for attracting the crowds to the match! Why? Like they could have gone the 'Full Monty'! The very survival of SFC could depend on it. Your best suggestions below How to attract the big crowds to an All Stars match?:
  16. Blinkered Lowe.
  17. That was before their stadium proposals sunk into the mud
  18. What is your mission, John?
  19. Can we have a 'told you so' sticky thread, mods? It will run and run...
  20. If SCW's wages and costs didn't drag us into administration earlier. Otherwise I agree. Whatever happened to the facilities he set up? I was not personally against his skills and attention to detail being introduced to the club (how we have needed this) only the divisions and aggro that his presence caused, so his appointment in hindsight was counter-productive.
  21. And we could have sold the film rights.
  22. A different Fry. Can't remember his first name, but as previously posted on this site he was Lowe's mate who sometimes attended SLH Board meetings and alledgedly is the guy who bounced the club's cheque. We appear to be tossed between different frying pans into the fire.
  23. Custer's last stand come to mine.
  24. I guess we had better postpone the statue then.
