  1. I believe the beeb has edited out his Saints time in this very short clip, and to be fair the interview is MS related which happened well after he left us. But I never realised that such a high proportion of his career goals were with us. Happy times. I do remember his appearances with his two brothers all in Saints shirts, which I think is a football league record. Correct me if I am wrong.
  2. In fact the more luxurious our state of the art got, the worse we became. So rent it out to the skates.
  3. Matt enjoys creature comforts too much, too. I can't see him installing a regime of fitness in the players. Genius as he was, he was putting on weight and did like the clubs and bars, just a little. We need a teetotal fitness maniac who can put the fear of god in the players, like Strachan or similar. Matt could be a brill penalty-taker coach though.
  4. Man walking dog?
  5. Owen an awful lotta money Saints
  6. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8060201.stm Not really Saints related I know, since his illness was well past when he played for us, but watching this interview brought back terrific memories of a great Saints player. Anyone got any specific moments of his time at The Dell?
  7. He would be good. We could have done with a hairdryer in the dressing room last season.
  8. I wish they also had a best saves of the season competition. KD made some corkers.
  9. The good thing is that they want to be here, despite playing in League 1. Also when their contracts are actually finalised, we will be able to command a fee should they leave. The fact that they want to stay perhaps also means that there is not going to be a mass exodus deserting a half sunk ship. Good or bad?
  10. But that is exactly how docker-p found the Charles Buchan Football Annual. Interesting story. 2 minutes of film speeded up? No wonder Saints were on the up! We should try it again.
  11. MLT -please say something...

Who's ghostly hand is that waving out of the incinerator?
  13. No, I blame Margaret Thatcher and their parents.
  14. Sadly. Politicians too. We are doomed....
  15. lol. But where's the man-boobs MB?
  16. I agree with you. Yes , he missed too many chances, but poor 'managerial' tactics were much to blame. Had we had a half-better coach than the hapless Poortvliet who played him upfront alone in front of a midfield that could hardly get above the half-way line, his goal tally would have been much better imho. McG is not a leader. He needs to be beside a play-maker that can work him. He has the tough build to survive League 1. Besides he is the best we have got. And I see no chance that we can avoid relegation in League 1 without him, because I don't see anyone else that we have who can score at least 10 goals next season.
  17. Due mainly to buyers not offering enough and Fry asking for too much. Equals no deal.
  18. How many tickets sold? Anyone know? It all seems to have gone quiet, possibly there hasn't been much progress towards finding a buyer?
  19. But if we pay for seasons and the club is liquidated, won't we lose our money?
  20. I herewith propose that we are officially re-named AN Other FC. Then we will be assured entry into any league.
  21. Yes to GM's question. But the fans can't be blamed for reacting against a chairman who regarded his customers as peasants.
  22. Lowe was dead against selling and always has been.
  23. Then he would be in good company.
  24. Sounds like SWF has infiltrated down the road and is winding them up like they did us, re PA
  25. Good negotiating skills? I say get Saints Trust to negotiate players' new contracts.
