Pretty much this! ;-) Used to live in Norwich and they are in an envious position of being the only biggish team in the county so everyone who's in to football in Norfolk, pretty much, supports them. Unlike us who have the Skates to the east, Bompey to the west and Reading to the North, with London not too far away.

Looked on Bluestar website yesterday and they said they were NOT running.

It's a shame also that we have our own legend/myth associated with the city which was really popular in medievil times, almost as popular as King Arthur legends, etc in the Bevois stories, yet no one seems to know it or much about it and apart from a few and there are key referemces to it in place names i.e. Bevois Valley/Town/Mount, Ascupart Street, also the lions outside the Bargate. This is something that should be really pushed, maybe with help from the Unis. Maybe we could hope for a Hollywood film! Not many City or towns have their own legends and it's something else we should be proud of.

What is wrong with most you! You seriously expect a NEWSpaper to not write about some NEWS about their main demographic??? Seriously? The stupid hypocrisy of this is that the majority moaning about the echo would have slagged them off if they had waited another day as it has been on everywhere else and said they were rubbish journalists for not picking it up the same as all the other media outlets. MC is obviously not used to having a local paper in his buisness most of the time and dealt with it in a way him felt appropriate, and quite frankly I think he has gone over the top. All he would have to do is chat with the Echo and try to do a deal with them, rather than cut them out. The echo is there to inform people as best it can with the resource of a local paper, you lot treat it as if it were another OS, or as some of you put a 'red top'. make up your minds!!!

TBF I phoned up when the JPT tickets were on general sale and asked for ST seat in the Itcehn 4 and was given it and the seats around it, I was lucky they hadn't been sold yet I suppose, but there wasnt any question of it. I havent booked my Luton tickets yet, will inform you when I do as you all seem distraught by this quite frankly sensible situation of not being able to guarantee ST seats when it is not financially right to open all the ground. They havent been doing this all season for cup games so dont get why the fuss now.

CB Fry statue: Get some cricketers and athletics stars to come and unveil it. and Charles Miller statue: get some Brazil players to unveil it , also like the bust of MLT idea. The shirt and badge above by Matthew Le God are good to, send that to the club.

Agree, would go to Exchange, big HD screen and food not bad either.

The where now? That's a big corner!!!

When the Itchen Corner re-opens it will be better as we keep the opposition quiet! We have two singing stands and we should be grateful for that. The away fans find it more intimidating and it's harder for them as well to get a song going. We don't need one 'Kop' end, we need the ground to be more full so the Itchen Corner is re-opened!

I am quite happy with it compared to last few seasons putting up with the rubbish from ITV! Good to know she's a Saints fan!

Should be good weekend, staying up in Manchester for the night so will go out on the p1ss after game to clelebrate mate's birthday (and hopefully celebrate 3 more points!).

OS - Northam for more saints fans/moving seats update
South City Si replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
I sit in Block 4 as I have never really liked sitting in the Northam, or any where else in the ground for that matter. This is the first season I've actually got round to buyingf a ST and choose the Itchen North as I prefer it's atmosphere, which IS different fromn the rest of the stands. I have sat pretty much every block in the ground and used to like Block 3 before it shut. Also, talking to some away fans I know they said that they found when we had the corners open int the Itchen they found it quite 'intimidating' as they surrounded on both side by fans chanting at them and drowned out all the time. SO..in my opinion open the ITCHEN corner as well and let us do what the away fans don't like! Having the fans in one place is a good idea in theory but won't necessarly make us louder as it may actually be harder to get songs going, while shouting down and quietening the away fans is half the job done! -
The away fans section is fine where it is IF the Itchen corner is open. I ahve spoken to a couple of away fans before and one thought it was 'intimidating' to have 2 sides going at them and drowning them out. As previous said, the old bill will never agree to move the away fans as right next to the coaches. You can't move the Northam 'home end' to the Chapel as you'd never get anyone agree to move there.

Once Lallana is good enough to replace Hammond, Schneiderlin or even James on occasions and has been taught how to take a corner and a decent shot, how the hell no coach hasn't drilled out of him scuffing his shot every bl00dy time yet amazes me, then he shouldn't play. Ability wise hes should be good enough, as he has the skill just doesn't always know how to use it. Would like to see him in top of midfield diamond behind Saga and Lambert, with 2 decent wingers and Hammond in front of the back four.

You forgot the new Pardew song: 'Make a sub, make a sub make a sub...' and 'sub, sub, sub'

Should we change the stand names at St. Marys
South City Si replied to dickyhale's topic in The Saints
There is loads more we could to rmember our legends and honour our past as a club but the stands current names should stay as it reperesnts the city and therefore the community. I like the gates Idea for 76, and more statues: CB Fry and Charles William Miller get my vote! -
In reality we can't realsie both of them until we get replacements. Patterson should not be a first choice striker at the moment, let alone the main one. We need 2 experienced men up front before any of them go.

I don't really care for the idea of a brand of 'Saints' temas around the world, such as Red Bull. To push our 'brand' we need to start in our own backyard and start reclaiming the area around Southampton and get supporters back. I always thought a poster/billboard campaign should be spread throughout South Hampshire like the old Strong's beer's: 'This is Strong's Country'.
