  1. Rochdale were up for it (as most teams playing in front of a large crowd at SMS will be) and for whatever reason Saints are flat. Why is the motivation not there? Who knows? could be a multitude of reasons but the positivity of last season is a distant memory and frankly I wonder where the next goal is going to come from, let alone a victory. Another pasting at Swindon without a manager beckons and I fear that the anticipated "WOW" manager will be an overwhelming damp squib!!
  2. Everything is just tickety boo!!.........as it will be after a good thrashing at Swindon next week and Saints drift into the relegation zone.........as usual there will be a revival to mid table medicrity by the end of the season
  3. You should be grateful you missed a few minutes of inept, insipid football.......imagine how much the club could have made if they had charged to get OUT of SMS rather than to get in!!....another lost opportunity!! lol
  4. This was so predictable..........I fear things may well get worse before they get better as Saints continue to implode........it could well be a relegation scrap this year......sounds totally disjointed and inept from management to players..........shambolic!!
  5. They need a miracle......not a manager!!...........I for one reckon the overall reaction will be "totally underwhelmed" by the new incumbent.........struggling against Rochdale........who would want the job other than some lower league journeyman manager which is frankly what we will probably get!!
  6. Disillusioned by the rumour and conspiracy theories behind the departure of AP. But if the club refuse to divulge any info then that vacuum will inevitably be filled by conjecture. Suddenly dark clouds are over SMS......just as things were looking bright......I would imagine Rochdale will be up for Saturday and another home defeat on the cards.......seems we have gone from contenders to also rans in a few hours .......amazing stuff Saints!!
  7. Would be a shocking appointment in my opinion and certainly take a few thousand off home gates!!........I certainly would be fed up and lose all faith!!
  8. Its a typical case of very little factual information from source which encourages wild and inaccurate rumours to fill the vacuum, and this will continue until the media and customers are spoken to and given a semblance of factual information. All very odd really
  9. Its unlikely this sacking has taken place without a replacement " in the wings", more or less ready to step in immediately......I would guess Wednesday . Also, given AP's overall success level I would expect someone of considerable stature. Otherwise it looks an odd decision at best!! O'Neill?......possibly..........Curbishley...possibly. Can't think of anyone else that would overwhelm me with enthusiasm.
  10. Notoriously slow starting Saints stumble to a lucky draw..........nothing is new!! Saints NEVER start the season in August.....its always October before they realise they are meant to play!!

Much Adu about nothing I fear!!......but one can hope!
  12. Typical sort of end of season result.......Gillingham wanted it and needed it.......Saints were never going to give it 100% when the season is effectively over. A win next week will top the season off, but its August everyone should look to......thats when the real campaign that matters starts
  13. All in all I have enjoyed this season more than any other for a long time. Partially because it has been the roller coaster of hope and desperation that football can be at times. Starting almost without a club at all and the "relief" of a draw at home to Millwall a poor first quarter was inevitable with effectively no pre season The fact that there was hope up until last night made it a season to remember and a season that could and should be the springboard to greater success and an automatic promotion spot next season Whatever league a club plays in, there is something warm about winning and not losing the majority of games, and in August the hope and expectation will be high. We all look forward to a good start and the return to Championship football, but whatever happens this season has had many highlights
  14. Still all to play for........Saints can only keep winning and hope the other results pan out in our favour. Considering the abject start of the season and the non existent pre season, then even if we fall short,if we can hang on to players then next season should be a side worth watching and automatic promotion should be highly likely
  15. McGoldrick has scored 3 goals at Forest in 17 appearances........at best he is Division 1 quality and frankly wouldn't do anything than warm the bench at SMS now ..........wouldn't be surprised if they let him go to somewhere like Peterborough in the close season
  16. Simply won't happen........absolutely the worst career move he could make........Celtic will be tipped out of the Champions League qualifiers by some tinpot Albanian side and AL will have a cold, wet miserable life in Glasgow to look forward to next winter with the joys of daytrips to Motherwell and Paisley.............try it........not much fun!!
  17. I still think all is not lost...........however when the season is over and the results reviewed it will be 11 points lost to Swindon and Brighton that will feel painful if we come up just short
  18. Drove to Beaconsfield.......lovely place, and got train direct to Wembley Stadium..25 mins.....plenty seats and free parking. Even quicker on way back.....was home in Southampton by 6pm Must have been about a dozen Saints fans at Beaconsfield and a few more than that at Denham
  19. Cue the usual bilge from certain parts of the UK and Europe!! Best to circumspect and accept that there is a 5 yrs plan..........a few months ago there was almost no club and much still needs to be done. I may be in the minority but a top 10 finish after the angst of the last 12 mths will be a positive. Spend the summer building the team spirit ready for a big push next year, and then is when AP should be judged in my view.
  20. All good runs come to an end, and this was our day to slip up!!........refocus and move on........simple as that really.
  21. Somewhat disappointing but not really a surprise. With Saints you kind of expect a "high" to be short lived and doubts to resurface soon......such is the nature of supporting them. Last night was no different following Saturdays excellent result. Maybe the fact that a clean sheet was kept is a step forward as defeat would have been unthinkable. Next season will not be the the stroll that many think it will be.
  22. Local rivalry is a healthy pastime and should be just that........at the end of the day they have a lot of long term loyal supporters who have supported them through thick and thin....they deserve a break. Feb 10 will give us all an idea of where the club will go in the short term, and relegation seems the minimum right now. For both side to be in the CCC in the next 2 years would bring a good local contest on a regular basis that most fans would welcome
  23. Overall AP is doing a first class rebuilding job and should be given time to do so........just because Saints don't easily scoop up 3 points every week some dreamers on here expect the manager to be under pressure..........luckily I doubt the owner thinks in such short termism
  24. I hope the club is thinking long term with AP and not the knee jerk reaction of the posters on here that crave instant success....therefore NO
  25. All the usual over reaction IMO.The play offs were always a dream this season and remain so. Saints are a club on the way up, these things take time but the general direction of the club is good. Some people have such short memories. There will be a full house on Tuesday for a competition that was meant to be a "joke" to Saints a few years ago. Knee jerk reactions are natural IF expecting 3 points from every game, and maybe its the level of expectation that the current situation the club is in that has initiated this mood. A few more home wins and a top 10 finish will be the basis of a good push next year back to Championship
