The longer the general malaise continues the more desperate things will become.........its early days and maybe things will turn around, but I sense more and more supporters have a general mood of resigned disappointment.........the whole thing is such a disaster area the fans will just stop going more and more..........a hard core of about 11,000 or so will probably remain............ but without the messiah like benefactor I'm afraid the picture doesn't look good!

So many negative people.....surely a clean sheet with most of the defence injured is the major positive of the day!! Other than that, does anyone feel they had value for money?........entertained?......on the edge of their seats?........probably not........ thats why there will be 13,000 at the next game....... ......less and less people are prepared to spend hard, very hard earned money at the present time watching this type of stuff

Anything could happen........but knowing Saints I imagine 1 point would be the best to hope for......... and a rosy tint put upon it!!

Think people are just generally bored with football itself......I certainly am.......

Don't think the figures will actually change much......... from who I talk to on a regular basis, its football itself that is losing its freshness.........its not value for money, there is a tightness in the weekly family budget. and its just getting a bit stale all round........not just Saints. Because money talks and loyalty is to the money its bound to disillusion the average fan.......i guess it evolves like everything else, but frankly I'm not keen on what its becoming, so I'll watch with interest with the other 15,000 that stay away. I'll go to the odd game but thats it..........

Some really intellectual responses on this thread!!........sadly the facts are that big owners want a big say in how things are run in THEIR clubs.......just the way it is nowadays!!

The club need to rid themselves of this type of individual.......simple as that..... get them off the books and let some other poor mug pay their inflated underachieved wages

Football is a commodity for sale like any other product and as such , as a potential customer who has been away since watching pretty dire stuff last season, I thought......given the hype following Derby and Birmingham City......... I would watch on TV and see if there was the desire to return, along with the 10,000 + who have probably done the same........ Sadly , Saints either choose to reserve their more disappointing performances for live TV or others are seeing a silver lining where I don't........ ..........therefore, like others , I am unconvinced.......... ....... I want to see the shoots of recovery......but they are not there yet!

Woodward was too clever and intelligent for football........they closed ranks and forced him out............had he been given time and support he could have had a hand in literally revolutionising this club, but it never happened. Its the anti rugby management in football with their heads in the sand as usual..... but i'm sure SCW is more than happy doing what he is now!

They are wealthy because they are bright enough NOT to put money into football clubs!!

Trouble is with youngsters is confidence and without expreienced players to nudge them through the rough times they could suffer if they keep losing, and the barrackers get louder........ .......agree with the "encouragement" concept, just not sure it will last long in this success orientated world we live in!!

Saints won't win at Derby........ not a chance........ its too early in season..........usually 4 or 5 games into campaign before they wake up realising they are bottom of league
