  1. Inertia and 40 point syndrome has set in. Well beaten by a motivated team that wanted it much more. Expect the same on Saturday as these guys seem to be saving themselves for the Euros or summer holidays already. Mid table with nothing to play for seems to have set in early!!
  2. Watford will exploit the wafer thin confidence and score at least 2 goals against a poor defence. Means Saints need to score 3 to win. Highly unlikely I'm afraid
  3. No doubt the same "played well, created chances but were unlucky" will be wheeled out again to explain yet another defeat. Watford & West Brom wiil expect maximum points and probably get them!! Something is badly wrong
  4. Sadly he will go to a "top" club as will any other outstanding talent that flourishes at SMS. Loyalty to one club hardly exists in today's game and whatever we wish for Saints will always be a "feeder" club to the bigger boys. Its the ability to buy wisely and successfully to replace them that will define the future in the short term at least. No point in thinking anything else in today's money fuelled game.
  5. Can't see where the next point will come from with the present demeanour and mojo in the club!!.........its a bit zero i'm afraid
  6. Ok...here's the ideal opportunity to roll sleeves up and get back into the game. 45 minutes to fight back in or totally capitulate. The players have the chance to change it. This will show us how things are within the club
  7. Absolutely crucial game in terms of the rest of the season.........lose or draw and it could be very bad.......win and the clouds lift a bit. However, I think Norwich will know that the club seems to be in the depths of a confidence crisis and exploit that fully. Hopefully the players want it enough to wake up , start playing and perhaps even score a goal. Can only hope but the odds on Norwich look very tempting!!
  8. Makes you wonder if the players really want it...........sounds like a totally abject performance. Very disappointing and I would imagine Norwich will be adding to the misery at the weekend. It all seems very flat and whatever sparked last season has vanished
  9. I fear that the season will be a long one.........can't score goals so won't win a game!!!
  10. Getting flash backs of Rasiak.......in fact he would have scored today!!
  11. No chance
  12. Rasiak would get a game in this team!! Dire
  13. Pelle seems very much a "confidence" type of striker and he is struggling. May need some creative thinking to resolve this or the season will slip away.
  14. Can't score and won't score.......seems the confidence and desire has plummetted at an alarming rate
  15. Maybe its the onset of winter and colder weather!! Have to hope its not too cold in Sheffield next week or the slide down the slippery slope could well continue. They will be up for it (as were Burnley).... but will Saints be?
  16. Frustrating evening with Mane running around like a headless chicken for most of the game. And Long can't finish. Major problem!! Had enough to win that game but belief and confidence appears to be slipping alarmingly. Burnley will be up for a battle...........can't see anything from that game on tonights performance. And to be honest United were not anything special!!
  17. Salmond hasn't taken long to become a bitter bad loser!! how he expects everything to fall into place after one working day shows he is simply stirring up trouble. the "vow" probably made little difference to the overall result, but its the only scrap he can hang on to..............as far as being "tricked"...the majority of Scots saw through his trickery and last of fantasy!!
  18. There is certainly an underlying venom in the opposing camps, more so on the YES side towards those voting NO.............I sense that if a YES vote there will be less antagonism and nastiness, but if a narrow NO majority I can't see the vocal 47/48% defeated YES side taking defeat in a magnanimous manner. I fear it may pit Scot against Scot for some time ahead.....the vandalising of NO signs and damage to property shows a sinister side to this whole vote which may well manifest itself next weekend.
  19. Odds are they will vote NO but its getting mighty close. If they opt for "divorce" then I trust rUK will not adopt a soft bargaining position and make it easy for them. No pound, no NATO, no EU and business opportunities for English whisky to flourish, English haggis and other similar enterprises.
  20. I'm positive. The new management team is arguably stronger than those recently departed, and it will be interesting to see how MP succeeds or otherwise at the perennial high hopes/under achievers in north London. The funds received for most of the departed are, in my view, certainly at premium prices. I don't think any of them will become the next Gareth Bale. RK knows what he needs to replace the departed and has already started that process and will continue it in the next few weeks , added to the emerging Academy talent that will supplement the new purchases. Loyalty to football clubs is rare nowadays. They all say the same encouraging things when they sign initially but squeal when more money elsewhere is offered. Sign of the times and unlikely to change!!
  21. Koeman will come in with a well honed talent scout mechanism in place and no doubt have several quality European "targets" in mind. Yes it is sad when players leave for potentially better things but it would be better to move on and evaluate the situation at Christmas once RK has had a chance to put some of his plans in place. The fact is there will always be "bigger" clubs looking to plunder talent from us. The difference now is there is no need to sell, but for £30million, and the possibility of 3 top quality replacements at that price, I say. "Good Deal" I trust the new management to deal with it.
  22. Midtable inertia..............there will be teams above and below between now and end of the season who NEED the points and have hunger and desire. Saints are pretty much where they will be come the end of season with little to play for. Add to that those hoping to go to Brazil wishing not to get a injury and you have the current scenario which may not get any better!
  23. The season just seems to be "coasting" to a conclusion now as mid table inertia seems to have set in. Those who hope/expect to go to the World Cup are not going to risk injury and relegation is no longer a threat. There are usually many games the are meaningless towards the end of a season, its just that Saints have reached that plateau earlier than in many seasons and there is literally nothing to play for other than points money from the Premier league. Those who "want" or "need" the points are going to be a greater threat than earlier in the season so there may be more poor performances still to come!
  24. Time to get rid.....take the potential loss and move on
  25. The wheels are not off yet, but defeats in the next 2 games could signal a slide. The earlier season momentum has gone, and needs rediscovering quick;y if top half ambitions are realistic.
