There has been no "battling" on the pitch. It is clear the whole club is rudderless with too many passengers on the pitch and frankly not premiership quality. Can't score goals, won't win anything. Never known the club to be so cut adrift from the fan base. A few seasons in the Championship might set the whole thing right but I think only a major clear out and proper grafters with leadership on the park will halt the slide at least!
-
Looks like a 0-0 draw with all the usual "we were unlucky" comments. Last on MOTD I would bet too!!
-
Very true, together with a total inability to score a goal!!.........Oh I forgot, except when losing 3-0........no doubt the "we were unlucky" comment will appear yet again.
-
Probably about 5-2 to United. Saints really are a licence to print money!!
-
0-3 A very average ManU score 3 by midway through the second half and ease off. Hughes claims we were unlucky (again!!!) and deserved something from the game. Its all so predictable.
-
Seems Saints are always unlucky............strange it never balances out as luck is meant to!! I sense "totally useless" might be a better description. Even with numerous gilt edged opportunities they manage to throw the game away.............hopeless!!
-
Someone will say its because the players are short on confidence etc etc etc...........how about they are just not very good and competence is questionable at the very least???
-
Yes....as per usual we will score one then give them 2 or 3............the pattern is so predictable with these also rans!!
-
I seem to recall in the distant past that Moyes turned us down when at Preston NE..........if so why would he want to come now ? Oh I forgot, he needs a job
-
As the title of the thread is 18/19 strikers...........just one vaguely competent footballer that realises the object of the exercise is to score a goal would be progress. The current crop of "strikers" should be queuing at the training ground on Monday morning (preferably Sunday to work on their fitness) to hand their excessive salaries back on the basis of incompetence and inability to do the basis job they were hired to complete. They are simply woeful
-
Not even a "team"!! A bunch of overpaid underperforming journeymen who frankly will ply their trade wherever someone
-
This.....so dull .Total inertia in the club will continue. Dire times!!
-
Notwithstanding Ranieri's abilities or otherwise Fulham will be lifted by this appointment. They won't need much of a lift to get beat the current morass of mediocrity that are Saints!!
-
Totally right......they will wheel out some poor non performer to bemoan their luck , conveniently forgetting the Watford obvious penalty. I'm sure " We deserved all 3 points " will feature together with the usual pretence of a solid bonded squad. Such rubbish. They should just get down to some serious fitness work and try to portay the semblance of a "team" in the next encounter
-
Its dire . Usually there are a few silver linings on the horizon, but frankly the whole club seems and feels detached from the fan base and the leadership on the pitch and desire seems to fall short all the time. Yes you need players with ability and skill, buy you also need characters and the right blend within every team. It all seems so unbalanced in so many areas. Sad times!!
-
The whole club is a joke nowadays. Winless , rudderless and drifting morass of mediocrity. The whole character of the players is questionable. Simply awful
-
This is spot on. Its a two way street. The club from top to bottom seem totally out of touch with the fan base. The team gives virtually nothing to encourage a positive response from the fans. The fans can see the disjointed, non caring attitude of many overpaid and over rated journeymen who will be quickly kissing the badge of the next club that offer them unjustified riches. Any "team" in business and sport needs the right blend of ownership, management and staff. Sadly Saints seem to have sleep walked into a situation where they all seem to be falling short in so many ways. The only hope that relegation can filter out many of these non performers and by luck or judgement they are replaced by committed "workers" which is what the Championship needs.
-
No....even against a Leicester side that has nothing to play for you need hunger, desire, determination.......all survival attributes. Saints appear to have none of them. The writing has been on the wall for months
-
At this point in the season Leicester are exactly the sort of team any team that needs points, it highly motivated, and hungry to survive in the top flight, would want to play as they have effectively nothing to play for. However as Saints seem to have none of those attributes and are now a bunch of overpaid, under performing journeymen who will hopefully move on soon, I would expect a 4-1 defeat. The writing has been on the wall for so long. Scandalous really
-
Entirely this. There seems a complete lack of leadership in the club from the owner, the management and on the pitch where these guys are an under performing shambles. And do the perennial journeymen of top flight football care anymore??......No. Because they are vastly overpaid and detached from the day to day realities of the average fan.
-
Without a doubt Saints..........probably Stoke and WBA Get some money on Saints though, these guys are just overpaid underachievers who will just move on and churn out the usual platitudes of "always wanted to play for this club etc......." Think many supporters feel less and less connection with the club and those who represent it..............guess thats progress!!!
-
No team whether in sport or business functions well with discontented individuals. just need to maximise the price and ideally not sell to Liverpool. I'm sure there will be other potential buyers. The current state of affairs is only made worse by having any player who doesn't want to part of the plan
-
No goals or even a sniff of one. Until a goal is scored there won't be a win!! Its grim and its not looking like a goal will come anytime soon.......Dire times indeed.
-
Doesn't matter who they wheel out for this pointless exercise. There feels like no connection between the fans and the club right now so they just should not bother!!
