  1. He's undefeated in the fa cup
  2. Eduardo Berizza or Peter Bosz for me. Won't happen but I'd love it!
  3. Boufal for Tadic. Do it now
  4. We’re three points behind west ham, hardly mid table security for then is it?!
  5. That goal was made by Carillo, good movement to take 2 away
  6. Let’s all jump on Pellegrino again for something we know nothing about and has very little context other than being an online interview that he’s conducted. If you look at the other interviews on that page they are discussing depression in football, racism, violent fans and a host of other topics. They obviously cover a range of footballing issues and Pellegrino has been interviewed on one of those issues. Perhaps, for once, the forum warriors could keep the vitriol under wraps and discuss the issue he’s discussing rather than immediately linking the issue to him personally and the situation at saints
  7. I’ve chosen back him for a few reasons. As others have said, i don’t expect it to be popular or roundly endorsed but it’s not my ringing endorsement of the manager or the situation we find ourselves in either. I don’t want us to bring in any old firefighter just because, its only going to sell us short down the line. Managers don’t take 6 month deals with big bonuses from clubs like us no matter how much people like to think they would. We’re not Chelsea offering Ancellotti a sweet pay deal between international/big club contracts. Appointing an Allardyce/Pardew/Pulis type character (Hughes too) only sets us back for next season when we don’t actually want a manager like that (assuming we stay up, but perhaps also if we go down). For example, Allardyce is already around 5th favourite to be the next premier manager gone and I’m inclined to believe Everton will drop him like a stone given the right replacement. Pulis hasn’t got Boro flying high and being talked about for their attacking prowess either. I also don’t prescribed to the favoured opinion on here that our wins this season were all purely circumstantial. We played well in those games, maybe not as well as we want or even for the full 90, but we won and beat what was in front of us by the means needed. That’s all that matters. There’s been some decent half games and the opener against Swansea was a good showing despite the result. I wonder if we’d won that and the squad got going and confident if things would be different but that’s just conjecture. If the players like him then stick at it because I think we’ll have enough to stay up but this end of year review is going to be a vital one.
  8. Within the North American market there are rules against talking about players under contract with teams in any league. Drake was fined a hefty amount for suggesting a basketball player should come to Toronto whilst contracted to another side. Something should be done about it, having ‘pundits’ spout **** like that in a national media outlet is bang out of order and only perpetuates the relentless drift of any talented player to the big 6. It’s ironic as well that Crooks says we need to decide if we’re a selling club whilst talking about Jack Stephens but 3 paragraphs later says we’re not good enough to hold onto another player.
  9. What a difference confidence makes eh?
  10. We’ve stretched them well at times. Both Cédric and Bertrand have been able to deliver good balls in. We could do with more zip but I’ll take it as it is provided we don’t back off, as per usual. But for a great Foster save we could’ve had another
  11. Time he goes I think. I’ve been waiting for it to turn, for the improved performances (every now and then) to turn into wins and a good run of results. Not happened. He’s wasting talent like Lemina, Boufal and Gabbi at the expense of players who we all know offer nothing or are looking past their sell by date. Silva in, let’s go after some teams for once. He took hull down but at least it was down fighting!
  12. Mid table is currently 6 points above us. I’d hardly say that’s comfortable! Lambert hasn’t even had 45 minutes in charge either so it’s a stretch to suggest he’s had any effect
  13. Hopeful that result dents the confidence in brighton as well as their goal difference
  14. 1-0 We’ll score earlyish and they will miss enough chances to have won 2 games.
  15. This thread is ridiculous. You don't see the west brom/Bournemouth chairman, or chairman of the other clubs around us, out in the press spouting off or trying to explain their current predicament so why the expectation that Krueger would?!
  16. That was my first match in 4 years and it was really poor. We're very static, don't press at all, let alone press high and really look bereft of ideas and confidence. I was really surprised by how much we push the ball wide in order to lob it forward to nobody and lose it. We also shouldn't be playing on the break when 1-0 up at home. I'm sorry but go for the bloody kill! Redmond makes poor decision too often. Shooting when men overlap him and being conservative when the chance to take his man on presents itself. Austin and boufal were positive, at least they look dangerous and get us excited. Other than that we are ponderous and lacking drive. Hojberg should be playing alongside Lemina as they can both get things moving from time to time. Tadic is a shadow of the player I remember. Not looking forward to the next game against palace as I was.
  17. This is my first game at St Mary’s since I left for Canada. My last was a 3-0 home defeat by west Brom at the end of the 2012/13 season. I’ve been looking forward to this game since June when I booked my flights but slowly my excitement has become less and less! Hoping we turn in a performance like the Everton game! 4-0 Saints
  18. Or does it show that he’s realized the standard set up was failing us and has adjusted tactically? This line up was pretty much how we played against arsenal and today won’t be any different. If anything, it’ll be less of the ball and more backs to the wall. If we’d taken chances we could’ve beaten arsenal with the counter attacks we had so why not try a similar set up for a similar type of game? Bertrand got forward well that game and could/should’ve won it, Hoj was excellent and Redmond offers pace, if nothing else. I suspect we’ll see boufal and Austin against Huddersfield when we are the team who should (no guarantee that we will) be pushing for the win.
  19. 1-0 Saints. We’ll pull of the rear guard action we couldn’t quite manage at city! Or we’ll get ****ing smashed.....probably that one
  20. Point is fine, not the end of the world as many on here seem to suggest. Tricky away game in which we played well. We were more open and got caught on the break a bit but I’d rather that than what we were serving up at the start of the season. Boufal and Bertrand looking like they could be a real threat, Hoedt (mistake aside) and Van dijk coming along nicely too. Signs of improvement continuing so I hope we’ll now give Arsenal a go because they look fragile as ever. Play sides like that at home and we’ll win more so not worried by what’s ahead
  21. Get a grip.
  22. Pellegrino’s away record at Alavés wasn’t all that bad. Perhaps this will be the start of a decent run of results?! Don’t expect many goals so will say 0-0 or 1-0 Saints
  23. Thank goodness! I’m all for a managerial change at this point but NOT for an anti football, be organized and take a point or a 1-0 if we’re lucky, manager like Allardyce. Him, Pulis, Dyche etc will all eventually be sacked after they’ve kept you up with 0-0 and 1-0 results before you turn to a ****, 30% possession side who can’t get a result for toffee. Make a change but make it an exciting one, not a premier league stalwart type
  24. I haven't been home for a Saints game for 4 years but finally coming home this Christmas. Dreading coming to St Mary's based on recent performances...
  25. Agreed. The guy offers nothing. Cedric was demanding he make a forward run in the first half. He's too easy to manage and makes life more difficult for us by slowing play down.
