  1. No ****ing width = no ****ing goals. Simples
  2. Sums it up perfectly.
  3. Bit of a cop out saying we were too direct and with two big guys up front it's easier to lump it forward- the reason we are too direct is because we have no width. We are one dimensional going forwards. We need to play a good old fashioned 4-4-2 with plenty of width, a bit of pace and plenty of balls into the box. We need to create at least 5 good chances per game to stand any chance of winning. We haven't/wont do that playing 4 central midfielders across the middle of the park.....
  4. Glad to see normal service has been resumed. In simple terms we are still not anywhere near good enough. We need at least 5 signings who can improve the team (not add to the squad)
  5. No disrespect but that is why you and I are debating his abilities on a forum rather than managing a football team! My point is that fans have a blinkered view when they like someone - JPS was well liked by the majority and its easy to see why because of his 100% effort and a couple of nice goals etc but that makes it easy to forget his mistakes or lack of ability. I did only see him a few times and Charlton was one of them - but i'd made my mind up long before then. For a big mas he was poor in the air, phycially very weak, poor posistioning and prone to making critical mistakes which more often than not lead to conceding goals. When a team has no confidence and no belief the last thing you need is to give away goals and that's why throughout the season individual mistakes cost us so deerly. We need a centre half and a centre midfielder - two key posistions and two key players (in the Lambert mould) who can improve the team, not just add to the squad.
  6. WTF - I'm sure 90% of this forum have never played a game of football in their lives. JPS, although a 100%er and probably a very nice bloke should never in a million years be classed as a defender. I feel and sincerely hope we can do better, much better.....

It doesn't matter who we stick up front if we create as many chances as we did on Saturday.... Two wide players with pace who can cross the ball are a must now ( as well as a centre back, a box to box central midfielder who can run, pass and tackle)
  8. Spot on.... FWIW I thought Murty was just about our best player yesterday.
  9. Jonny Wilkinson or Kevin Davies?
  10. The word legend is used far too frequently these days. Sir Bobby Robson was a LEGEND. RIP Sir Bobby, you will be sorely missed.
  11. He has talent just look at his record in pretty much all the other categories of single seater racing - he pretty much cleaned up (bar GP2 when he lost the championship at the last race to Lewis) The step up to F1 is bigger and more difficult than most realise and some find it harder to adapt than others. He was always onto a loser in an ordinary Renault car with an extra-ordinary team mate like Alonso who is quite simply the most complete driver in F1 (MSC included)
  12. No rumours, no BS ITK'ers - how great is this club once again, I love it. Along with the way the takeover was conducted the silence which is now deafening speaks volumes for the quality of people we have running the club, long may it continue.
  13. It's all about negotiations and brinksmanship - basically getting the best deal. I have said time and time before that deals like this don't happen quickly, they are always a long, slow, drawn out process often completed at the 11th hour for the best possible deal. IMO we have seen nothing unusal in the whole of this sorry saga - maybe only Pinnacle getting exclusivity. I'm sure everything will be concluded in the next few days and we will be left feeling slightly empty of it all (unless of course they hit the ground running, appoint a new manager and start spending decent money!) regards tommi
  14. Things like this don't happen to us, do they.....?
  15. I have said many times before, these deals always go right to the wire, you never see a football club smoothly coming out of admin, its always and 11th hour deal..........
  16. Two page spread? well at least that means there is plenty to write about him! I guess that can only be good news, outing a fake would only take two or three paragraphs? surely? Then again, it is in the Echo.... :-)
  17. PI? Yes please, finally someone with a winning mentality!
  18. This could take a while........!I'm not sure how much you know about rfactor but basically it's a community developement game - download the binary from the internet, and then develop your own cars/series/circuits/setups/engine maps/telemetry (the list is endless) or just download what others have produced! rFactor can do everything any other racing sim can do and then about 10 times more. IMO it is the most advanced and respresentative racing simulator out there - hence why most F1 teams use it in their simulators. Don't bother with the F1 sim -it's not that great to be honest, just download the megane series (v2.02), download some circuits - join up to an online game and prepare to be amazed... http://www.rfactorcentral.com is the place to visit, also give me a shout on tommit@gmail.com and i'll send you over some stuff in more detail. I usually play on line with a few mates, we have an audio server which we connect up to and chat whilst racing - sounds a bit geekish but it adds to the fun. The only problem is that to be any good at it yo uhave to put the hours in (genuinely)
  19. what series do/will you play on rfactor? I highly recommend the Megane Trophy (the only one i play)
  20. What games do you play with your G25 Baj? rFactor....??
  21. The chance of a new dawn, a clean sweep, starting afresh.......... please, I hope Leon returns to being a fan, nothing more, nothing less.
  22. Is it not "Park Park what ever your name may be, You eat dogs in your home country, But it could be worse, you could be scouse, Eating rats in your council house?" :-)
  23. Cheers NSS, one of the few worthy posters on here (and you're from down the road - crazy!!) Pleas pass on our thanks to Tony and his team for all the hard work, extremley long hours and doubtless sleepless nights to get where we are today. It's much appreciated.
