Heart says Saints, head says Pompey at a canter... grrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
Ok, in part I take your point but with the greatest respect for the last week or so all the experts on here have been telling me that yesterday Pompey would be finished. Clearly, that is not the case as they are still trading today (be it illegally!) and they will be playing us on Saturday. So, I will continue to use my gut feeling and common sense approach to the situation - Pompey will not be wound up, they find a way out of this. Yesterday was defining - the case clearly stated they are trading insolvently yet they have been given more time to rescue the situation. That to me is clear signal there is a way out for them. Regards Tommi

are the "they will be wound up/cease to exist/gone tomorrow/i guarantee it brigade still believing that Pompey are finished? I have said it numerous times on this thread, they will not be wound up, not cease to exist, the best we can hope for is admin in the next 7 days. HMRC had their chance today and let them off. Pompey will get out of this now, but hey, we always knew this would happen.... Sometimes I wonder if the desperation of our fans wanting to believe they will be wound up is as bad as the desperation of the skater boys believing an arab billionaire is waiting in the wings.

Urm, do we not have to win it first?

Very happy to be going to Wembley but Jesus Christ we are terrible. So one dimensional, everything goes long to Lambert, where has the incisive, 2 touch passing gone which served us so well through Oct/Nov and early December? We seem to be a shadow of the team we were. Play like that and we will get murdered on Saturday. But tonight, Wembley here we come!!!
-
They will not go under, no way, it's simply not going to happen. An 11th hour deal will be brokered, I only hope we turn up on Saturday and give them a bloody tough game.
-
I still stand by my statement, PFC will still exist come Thursday and we will still play them on Saturday (I cannot wait...!) The worst that will possibly happen to them is Admin, relegation, a few years in the doldrums... The best case, Mr Chainrai stumps up £20m over the next couple of days, they go on a bit of a run and manage to survive by the skin of their teeth and someone then takes them on, probably drastically reducing their wage bill and running them as a 'proper club' I just can't see them ceasing to exist, the Premier league will not allow it ;-)
-
There is no way in the world Pompey will be wound up on Wednesday. Things like that just do not happen to clubs in the premier league. The case on Wednesday will either be thrown out due to a technicality or they will be given 28 days to pay... and somehow by the skin of their teeth something will materialise and they will pay it. Just my opinion - I hope I'm wrong!

Come on you reds!! 3 points please or else the play offs are more and more unlikely

Sorry, I don't see the problem here, get of TDD back. He is right, it's a simple as that...

Hamster, superb news, long may your wife's health continue to improve. MB, so sorry to hear of your terrible loss, thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time

Don't do it. Penny shares are penny shares for one reason only - if they are worth their true value they can't be bought/sold (i.e nothing) Penny shares have not made many people rich, even the best traders, anyone who claims they have is either very lucky or a brilliant liar.

Is it me or are we an absolutely shocking football team? I'm sure we played better football than this before Christmas? Maybe it's the pitch, the formation or the tactics but everything is just lumped forward. Very dissapointing. If we could play a bit of football we would murder them.

What happened to Acid rain?

officialsaints Having a quiet chuckle whilst watching sky sports news-got a hunch some1 in their office will have a slapped wrist in the morning #saintsfc
-
new tweet saying someone in the sky sports office is going to get a slap on the wrists tomorrow.... no confirmed deal! (yet?)
-
I'm sure it won't be too long... :-) 9 goals in 8 games. Shocking, it should be at least 10 in 8....

Well I guess if Ponty says it then it must be true?! (no disrespect Ponty!) I'm not on my high horse, I'm simply pointing out that the fact that lots of normal people (i.e normal like you and I) will be far more adversley affected by Toyota's announcement than a young promising driver. I apologise for showing a human element and a genuine level of concern. A troll? So you class me in the same bracket as 19C?? do me a favour!!! do you not have anything better than that? I'm not an argumentative person, and generally I post common sense, if that is seen as designed to start rows then that's not my fault. The age old adage of the truth hurts? springs to mind. cheers Tommi xxx

Why? what about the 5-600 normal people with normal families who are now likely to be out of work?? I feel much more for them than a promising young racing driver who is very likely to get a decent chance in the not too distant future?

This is my reaction after the Bristol Rovers defeat. I said at the time that I had never felt so positive after a defeat. May I suggest some of you on here go back over and read a few of your posts from the last few weeks. It helps give a little bit of perspective.

Tilson (their manager) -Saints contention for play offs
tommi replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
What the **** are some of you plebs on? stay in this division? we are in the 3rd tier of English football. **** me, we need to get out of here as quicky as possible. Play offs? we shouldn't be settling for that, we should be going all out for automatic promotion. -
woo all 5 scored! phew........
-
Well I must have watched a different game? If Morgan had scored that 'easy' chance to make it 3-1 we would have won 4 or 5 -1. We finally managed to score from open play and at times played some excellent stuff. It will come, keep the faith..
