  1. With that figure, you can see why Jose said the wages being paid to Shaw would have bankrupt Chelsea!
  2. Your feeling may :-) be absolutely right.... ;-)
  3. I'll take his win % as a manager, please.
  4. One of the important factors we are forgetting is regulation and regulation changes and how they may affect the future of English/European football. This club has taken a bottom up approach to development over many years, none more so than in the recent past. Investments in the training ground, academy, Southampton way may prove to be visionary in the not too distant future. I firmly believe football is on the cusp of a significant change, where our strategy of building from within will pay dividends. Take a look at the stats out there now based on home grown, youth players, English players, goals scored by English players, % of home grown players in the match day squad etc and watch this trend continue to rise and become more relevant as the football authorities push through the significant pipeline of regulatory changes. As a club, being sustainable and building from within with the best crop of youth talent (both in the match day squad and coming through the ranks) will hold us in good stead as the changes start to resonate. The days of buying short term success are numbered (for me!)
  5. The quality of a forum is only as good as the quality of the posts. This forum has been in decline for a while, 2/3 or the drivel posted above are testament to that. RIP Saintsweb Forum
  6. The players on the pitch lost that match against a weakened Sunderland side who are currently bottom of the premier league. The team Mopo put out was good enough to win that game. Lallana and Lambert both missed clear cut chances they would have converted 9/10. It's football, it's the way it goes sometimes.
  7. If Adam and Rickie had put away their chances they would both usually score, we would have won the game 2-1. The rest would be, as they say, elementary! The team we put out was good enough to win the match, the performance wasn't good enough. As simple and as frustrating as that.
  8. Always a good reliable source for injuries: http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php They also have a twitter account @physioroom for you modern day social networking users :-)
  9. Used for many years. No problem at all. Very interesting business model if you're looking for a secondary income.

    Billy Sharp

The fact is we didn't sign any 'half decent striker' we signed Billy Sharp who still had to step up and do it. It's easy to talk about it, much harder to actually do it. So again, the facts of the matter are clear, without the goals Billy scored in the latter half of the season we wouldn't have been promoted. And for that reason I will be forever thankful to him.

    Billy Sharp

How anyone on here can criticise Billy's goal scoring for us is beyond me. Without his goals in the latter half of our Championship promotion season we would not have been promoted to the Premier League. Short memories.
  12. Finally some sense on here! Over confidence normally bites us; badly and unexpectedly. I think we have made some excellent additions, a natural progression (finishing higher than 13th) would be a logical achievement for me this season. Rome wasn't built in a day.
  13. Where will you be? I'll be in Scotland on Weds evening too... both of us on the tables would make more of an impression!!
  14. FIFA, on XBOX, always play as Saints. Like beating the bigger teams, especially when the player feels the need to quit! More than welcome to add me if you fancy a game (i'm pretty average - (GT = tommit lf1) P.S Ess - just attempted to add you as my 1st friend :-)
  15. Thanks for all the amazing responses :-) I can't believe Dubai Phil passed up this opportunity?! Anyway, back home in the UK and watch-less unfortunately. It seems the Dubai Tax heaven and savings for luxury goods is not quite what it used to be. The best deal I could negotiate was about £200 cheaper than the UK price - which for me wasn't worthwhile. Still, had a great week relaxing in the sunshine.
  16. Just taking in a few days rest and relaxation in Dubai and would like to buy my better half an Omega watch. Any recommendations on decent places to purchase said watches. The shops at the Mall of Emirates are more expensive than the UK! Tax free discounts don't appear to apply any more!
  17. I think and don't take it as verified, an amendment or part/full satisfaction (of said charge) would require the posting to CH of a 403a.
  18. A quick check on CH shows 1 charge still outstanding
  19. What? honestly? who gives a ****? The only league table we need to worry about is the Premier League.
  20. Ex-Saint and big Saints fan Maik Taylor keeping Millwall in the game at Farton Karp :-)
  21. Weather, quality of pitches, mental effects of less day light hours. We're a different side when the sun is shining and happily, spring has sprung! :-)
  22. Allan McGregor, Greg Wylde and possibly Steven Naismith
  23. I remember singing our National Anthem at St Mary's before England v Albania. Amazing, spine tingling. Jerusalem would be my choice though :-)

  25. Park is Korean and in his home country his fame is on a par with Mr Beckham. Would be nice to add to the brand in the largest region in the world. Fernandes has done that at QPR - Malaysian TV now show all their games live. Plenty of opportunity.
