The club would've been run into the ground had he got his way. It would've been just like Leeds all them years ago. Paying big transfer fee's and wages for short term success on the pitch until the bubble burst and we are relegated with a horrendous amount of debt because we'd have lost the PL income. Can't believe how many people that support our club are blind to what was happening at the time. He wanted an open cheque book and ran the club like a dictatorship. He oversaw a great rise and for that I'll always be grateful but he left at the right time imo and I'm glad he's not here now.

I'd love Lookman. I think he's a quality player that isn't being used properly at Everton but that said, I think there's very little chance of them selling him for a price that would fit within our budget and I think Ralph wants a striker first.

Yep. I genuinely believe Reed got a bit arrogant about how good we were at recruiting players. Yes, giving bigger contracts to good players like Van Dijk earned us a good few million more but that's been cancelled out by offering huge contracts to players like Long and Forster, then forking out silly money on crap like Carillo and Hoedt who are also on big wages.

Why is everyone moaning about the rules and the ban but not at Austin acting like a total plank again? Doesn't matter what anyone else got for similar. This lad needs a recall. I think he'd flourish under Ralph if he was willing to put the graft in. He'd offer more than Mo, especially under a manager that will release the shackles a bit. He'll be allowed to actually do what he's good at. Attacking. Puel barely played him because we signed him injured and when he did it was quite often out wide out of position. Pelligrino's ultra defensive tactics sucked the life out of his game. Give him another go imo if he's up for it. Big if though.

Moan all you want. Sometimes you just have to admit that the other team played really well. Think West Ham have done well tonight. We look tired though, so maybe Ralph needs too come to terms with the fact that we aren't up to fitness levels he requires yet. Especially over the Christmas period.

Hughes didn't actually improve us at all. For the 8 games he was with us for at the end of last season, we scored 8 points. The 8 games before that we scored 8 points. He maintained it but effort levels did rise tbh. It's a myth he improved us. Ralph will definitely improve us though.

Target and Vestergaard have both been absolutely shocking.

We look awful. Ralph has a tough job on his hands here. Cardiff who have been awful are making us look league 1 level.

Things are looking pretty bleak atm so we really need a win here. 9 points over christmas is what we need to be aiming for. 3 wins. That's more than half the amount of wins we've had in the last 46 games.

2 games in a row now that his awful positioning has cost us. Like others have said and like it was said when we sold VVD. To have him as back up is ok, to have him as a starting cb shows how desperate we are atm.

Hughes doesn't want him. He's been told he can leave. Just needs to find a club willing to pay what he and we want. Shame really, as I think when he leaves he'll do well and it will be a case of us wondering why we can't get the best from a #10 type flair player again. Shame he was rarely given a run of games as an out and out #10 really as that's where he's best but by all accounts, he only has himself to blame as he has a bit of an ego.
