This has been the worst window since promotion. We knew VVD was going and we haven’t replaced him. We knew we needed a right sided attacker and we have failed to sign one. We are ****ed.

They’ve known our interests for a while. The player has told them he wants the move. They’ve had plenty of time to sound out a replacement. Not our fault.

We’ve offered what they want and Promes wants the move. If it falls through you really can’t blame Saints. I’m still confident it will go through.

Seriously, pay the extra. If we miss out on Promes I’ll be fuming. The player wants to come and personal terms are sorted.

Then our little debate is done. I think the lad will offer us what we really need, you think he's a risk too big. I do think he's a risk myself but so is every signing. Agree to disagree.

Our midfield DO break forward when we attack but are behing the ball by some way at times because they sit deeper. The target man will massively help bring other players into play, especially the likes of JWP. As for the 'we need goals now' comment. Who would you have us buy exactly? Any striker outside the PL is a risk because the style of play massively differs from nearly every other league out there. A LOT of foreign strikers struggle in the PL. So tell me, which 20 goal a season striker would you pluck from thin air that will be in our price range both fee and wages and would cut it in the prem? Even Theo would've been a risk. Every signing is a risk. Like I've said before, i'd have hoped our fans would've learnt by now not to write players off before they've even kicked a ball. This lad is exactly the type of striker we've been crying out for. He retains possession as well, which will help prevent fast counters. Give the boy a chance.

At the end of the day, our team is crying out for a target man in the mold of Lambert or Pelle. This is so he can hold up the ball and bring midfielders into play because Pellegrino likes to have the midfield a bit deeper. If Carrillo can score 10-15 goals a season for us, then he'll have been a decent buy. Any more than that is excellent. I wish some of our posters would learn from previous experiences and stop writing off players before they've even kicked a ball for us. It's v irritating.

Thought we played much better and upped the tempo and attacking intent significantly. We did that until late on, when tiredness set in. Would love to see the midfield push up a bit and stay there though. The gap between them and the defence is too small at times and we are too deep as a result. Prowsey had a great game, he's finally starting to perform with a little more consistency. Stephens lost his man for the goal yet again. His marking in the box is really poor at times, not good really if you're a CB.

He would be a ****ing great signing, he’s exactly what we need, which is why I don’t think it’ll happen.
