Strange not seeing: McCarthy and Hojejberg in the starting XI. And Clasie and Targett not on the bench?

I think it's 5 in the back. Both Pied and McQueen are strong going forward and weaker in defense. There seems to be a couple of knocks yesterday. Davis was noticeable uncomfortable (quad/hamstring). Bertrand seemed to have a slight limp when coming off late. He went straight into the locker room. Any word on those two?

With Boufal on the pitch, we are truly playing with 10 men... With Long on the pitch, every direct pass is offsides... Tadic spends half his time on the ground Redmond gives the ball away to often Yoshida, Forster and Romeu were outstanding!

I think Toby played in the midfield that game.

I only got to see 60 minutes today. Fonte made 4 mistakes. Big mistakes. We always say Yoshida is good for 1 boneheaded play, well...... Redmond should not pay in the middle. Maybe after a few months of training, but not now and not starting. Romeu isn't ready for this formation. He needs to be able drop deep into the formation to allow both fullbacks to engage higher up the pitch. We are not Barca, but we need to use a false 9, if we want to be affective in a 4-3-3. Thanks for the update, Trotter. I tried to find a starting lineup from the game. No luck. Maybe you can help with that info. Also, you refer to JB. I can't figure out who JB is..

A bit off topic, but any word on shirt numbers? Seems Austin is wearing 10, Redmond 22, and Targett 23. Hojbjerg is currently wearing 5, but I'm sure Gardos will keep 5. Will Forster wear 1? I know numbers are not that important. Just curious what everyone else was thinking.

Romeu is strong and seems to always come away with the ball. However, he has poor touch and often gives the ball right back to the other side. He is also a bit rash. He tends to be overly aggressive. All in all, he is a good player at holding mid. Plays very hard and wants to be in the team. Hopefully, Romeu and Vic get a run of games together.

Also, Koeman did adjust after the 2nd goal. Long moved to the left and davis in the hole.

They should've been down to 10 men. Should've been a PK and a red card. However, everyone is playing so poor and we would likely be down at half anyway. Poor touch, poor passes, poor movement. But I guess it's hard to keep your head in the game when the ref won't allow fair play.

DT, you have a point! haha We are currently slow turning out academy players so our player progression is: Celtic>Saints>Liverpool..... I just hope Liverpool doesn't catch on and cut out the middle man...
