I do understand your point but to me it is no different to us losing KJ this time last season, it was a kick in the teeth and that is when GB came out and said it was going ot be a hard season and we were looking for a mid table finish.Of all our players KJ was the one GB didnt want to lose. Davies is a good defender it would be interesting to see the goals against and points gained etc when he played.

The Itchen corner were a good group of fans but for many most of the match they were looking at the oppo fans not the game. You must see that to poilice and steward such an area is costly. You are a committed fan ,do you think in our times of financial restraints that it is right to sacrifice the corner seating for the benoifit of our club? It is not the clubs fault it is the fickle/plastic fans who cant be bothered to go and support Saints. The corners will open when the fans return.

No doubt you were not keen with the appointments of WGS or Jones they both did ok. Gray and Wigley were both highly respected and wew were told that in football they were rated. Both decisions were made and then they were replaced leaving plenty of time to right things. Did RL give away 2 goal leads NO Did he miss an open goal from 6 yards away at WBA (That alone would have saved us if it had gone in) etc etc etc etc etc. RL was part of the disaster but the players and management were the biggest factor as their arrogance that they were too good to go down cost us.

End of August but you still can get loans for a while..I think By the way are you Bournemouth Saint from the old site who had run ins with DD etc about GB?
-
Why are you down on the young players. If we had a spending spree in the summer and had bought MCG Lallana Gillette etc etc you would not say the same. We'd have given them more slack. They are Saints players and have been at the club for many years and so have an affinity to the club and fans.Yesterday who let us down most? It was the high wage earner who had to be taken off as he was tired (jans words) and missed the chance that would have changed the course of the day.Im not against Stern but just using him as an example of the 'stars' not doing what the kids did, they competed.
-
No I first heard of the interest on here. I do know that no player on high wages is sacred, and will be sold if there is a decent offer. A collegue who went for a meal with LC and another director just before RL came back, they said that the bank would support us but we had to sell everything that moved.Under any chairman in the state the club is in players were to be sold. It will carry on until the window closes, I just hope we can get there without losing some of the promising kids.
-
Do you support SFC or the hero of the moment?? The senior players are there for a pay check and wish for a PL club to take them. Those kids pull our shirt on with pride and excitement to play in front of us.Yes they hope it will lead to greater things for them but their first thought is to play for our shirt. Give them slack and forget players who are going on to better things.
-
until fans understand 'being close to bankrupt' we will carry on fretting about offloading high wage earners. I rate Davies and am disappointed that he might be sold, but he is subject to lots of injuries as he goes full throttle inot everything.Boro fans told us that he is good but gets injured a lot because he goes into tackle alm,ost recklessly. Heads up a decent result will lift the spirits

I know but after all these years I still am surprised at how bigoted some are. I watched the highlights this morning and watched to check my assessment of the 2nd goal was correct and am satisfied that KD had no chance as Bents header bounced so high, it was a fluke. If fans had seen Barts performance at Exeter it was discocerting that such a promising keeper has become so nervous, I hope he regains his confidence and is pushing KD again for 1 st spot.
-
No I questioned that decision. You have to recall the events of the time.RL had been branded a sacking chairman. He relieved Jones and got Hoddle who walked out.Gray was shown loyalty for the way he stayed at the club when GH wanted to take him to Spurs. He took action and then appointed Strachan ,that was not universally approved, but did well we left. The press wwere now circling and saying RL was a sacking chairman, then we had Sturrock (the truth of his departure is still to come out) then Wigley again was rewarded for loyalty and was replaced with over 20 games left HR had plenty of time to get us safe. The players had no backbone and gave away countless points from winning positions, thye are just as culpable as any body else.

I hope you win the Euro millions.

Well done the w@ts who shouted abuse at Kevin Philips

Now that is a btter arguement as I think the swing Lowe song and Burley for Scotland was counter productive. -

Well as it was in the national press it was not news.If I left a football club and insulted the fanbase I would expect payback.Crouch left and has gone on to Pompey but he doesnt bring the same feelings from fans. Its the way you carry yourself. Personally phillips was not in the game and it did effect his performance.Even McFadden went a patted him on the back when he came on to get him to lift his head. -
there you go you wish for somebody else to pay.I dont blame just RL for the clubs demise but a lot of factors. To keep a few seats open is a futile jesture IMO.

In general Saints fans have been very good to returning players.Maik Taylor was received well and clapped back to the fans applauding his return. Phillips left and said some uncalled things and so the venom is well due.His wife was in the papers for her infidelity and does not shy away from the cameras.I thought he would have celebrated in front of our fans. -
your morals are strong but when the situation appeared you may change your mind. It was like a classic bit on Fools and Horses when Del boy says 'if i had a million pounds Id give you half, if I had 2 rolls royces Id give you one.' Rodney says ' if you had two gold watches would you give me 1' and Del replies 'Now you know I have 2 gold watches.'

A caller came on Radio Hants and said that he had spoken to RL before the game and he said the only reason Davies is going was because we couldnt afford his wages.
-
But for what reason? To throw a lot of money away to pander to a few fans is a nonsense. If they were to throw any money away it would be better to the squad. As I said when the idea to close was mooted, if you wish for it to stay open wpould you pasy 3-4 times for the ticket to pay for the costs of doing so.Understanderbly you wouldnt so why should a business/club that is in serious financial trouble
-
fair summary IMO

Behave, I didnt sing but Phillips deserves everything he got. He would have scored or any other player would have it made no difference -
In a position like we are what else can we do.We have to sell to recoup our excesses in the past.
-
You are no doubt correct but the club has to be pragmatic. We dont know how Davis is and he might not even pass a medical as Jan says he's still injured. I would love to have him at the club but like last season one of our real hopes is taken for us after 2 games by a promoted club (kenwynne) We should by now be used to this.Perhaps it would be better to have a team of averagew players whop stay together akin to Bristol City, rather than individuals that stand out and are taken from us.
-
No I agree you have a right but i got a bit confused in your flare up with Jillsaint etc .
-
on the radio and Perry stated that the support was very good.Steve was correct after 70 minutes it did go flat but we feared the worst and so were edgy. Its the noisest reception I can recall against a returning player.
