  1. I just like to actually enjoy some weekends again. The last 3 years of losing more often than not is not good for mental health
  2. He was a top player for Luton in this league and so knows how to play. Go from strength to strength hopefully
  3. Amazing how players who have been disrespected by judges on here have proved themselves. So pleased to see them getting a little praise. Well done to Downes , Bree and Aribo.
  4. they hated him as he was Redknapp and Pompey. The abuse he had was disgraceful, very saddened when he went off to jeers of 'f-off Fuller' and that turned him to shed tears.
  5. I still sad for Ricardo as he was so badly treated by our fans.

    Ruben Selles

I wonder if they had made a song about him and sung his name
  7. whilst I do see that, by the time we have weaved our magic playing the ball around the back, they have had time to set their defence, lit a cigar and taken a sip of their brandy
  8. The playing the ball around the back is fine if you have fantastic technical players. Yes they get it right 90%-95% of the time, but get it wrong once you've lost the game. I only watched the game from about 30 minutes in. My view is that at no time did i have any confidence that we were going to keep them out. As soon as they pressed our back 4 they got edgy, we ccreated hardly anything and when we did the ball would flash across with nobody with the instinct to be in the right place. I thought Bree looked competent Getting the last minute goal was brilliant
  9. trouble is that we are like this every game. Need so much improvement if we really are going to make play offs
  10. Are you talking about the posters on here, or the team
  11. This is my very simplistic take. If the opposition want to make it difficult surely they dont get drawn forward. We are relying defenders/goalkeeper to be able to pass the ball accurately for 90+ minutes without making a mistake, good luck with that one. These players were not IMO brought up or even used to play that way. Most were to stop the ball and kick it up the pitch, all of a sudden they are expected to play difficult balls with their feet. It all seems madness to me, but I know my little voice in the wilderness won't be heard and ill suck it up. Wherever we are I will still be having my week-ends buggered up by the team I have encumbered myself with lol
  12. You can also add Harold Wilson, as he was mentioned early on. Politicians meet many people and so want to be seen as one of the people they mix with who they think are celebs of the day. The Royal family socialised with him as well the Pope, ( although who's surprised with priests)
  13. I didnt know that about his mate Ray! I dont think it mentioned it on the programme, if so I missed that. Very pleased he was though. I didnt read all of Hypo's posts but they don't sound good what you have mentioned. There are paedo's everywhere in society and so there could well be some who are fans/posters on here!!!! If so I hope they rot in hell
  14. Hypo was on form! We all can misjudge. As for the programme I thought Coogan was superb, made you think it was Saville. So sad seeing the real victims and how it has messed their lives up
  15. Rooney new Birmingham manager apparently, they are next home game, hopefully they dont get a new manager bounce. Sure the B'Ham Leicester game will be live and a bit spicy lol
  16. I hear often that by having the ball more than the opposition they can't score, bleeding good job too, as imagine our goal difference if we hadn't had 60% possession! I agree with Wade that the Arsenal /Man C game was tedious. Technically good but boy is it dull where it goes forward/sideways then back. I prefer cut and thrust and so Spurs, Brighton are good to watch. Pep is a fantastic manager and I respect him greatly, but he has players who can pass through the eye of a needle dont think many of our team can pass that well. Surely having the ball upfield and battling for the ball close to the opposition goal enables us to get a chance. Im a dinosaur who enjoys the ball in the box and being aggressive in midfield, playing the ball to a centre forward with someone for flick ons, to a degree Koeman did so with Pelle. Having the budget and quality we will ever have I can't see us ever having the ability to cope playing RM in the Prem
  17. How about playing him down the middle, his pace would frighten most defences and he has the skills to make him unplayable

    Israel

Having grown up in a society that has been controlled by a pro Israel media I have always given them sympathy. Watching the terror of plane hijacks by the PLO when I was young also made me despise the PLO. As time has gone on and seen how the Israelis land grabbed with settlements and made the life of the Palestinians pretty dire I have softened to their cause. It is a disaster for the world and it will always be the tinderbox between them and Iran. Both having nuclear weapons cannot be healthy. The US may be looking to use this as an excuse to challenge Iran, whose people in the main just want to get on with a happy life
  19. Yes Catch 22 as if we get promotion RM would be the manager
  20. Once there are at least 10 American owners, is there a chance they could get it voted in that like American sport there is no relegation? Fanciful perhaps but it makes business sense for them, Gone will be the ogre of relegation.

    Danny Rohl

That is a shame as I feel he could be a better bet than what we have
  22. If we could be guaranteed top 6 forever in the Championship Id settle for that, but it is torrid being in the lower reaches fighting a relegation battle in this league. Stay in here too long and that will happen as our financial muscle fades
  23. the only time the fans are the most important assets are when the club is in financial difficulty. The rest of the time we are fed the mealy mouthed nonsense about how important we are and go and buy a shirt to show it etc etc. Fans are seen as mugs, as we have pinned our colours to the mast and there to help pay the wages As you can tell my rose glassed spectacles have been binned many years ago, gone are those fantastic days as a kid being so excited to get Fred Kemp's autograph in the club carpark after the players had been training.
  24. mugs most of the time
  25. I wish the fans who were spouting we will be top scorers and will walk the top 2, were called out at the start of the season not after 11 games. The last 3 games we have started to look more assured with the new system (not that I'm an advocate) It should have been 9 points of course. The last 11 games of the season are very important for us to make a good run. It is a real shame hat we are now unlikely to make top 2 and as a long time Saints fan I accept we will make a hash of the play-offs. The manager seems a decent man but whether he has the grit needed time will tell. Even if we got rid of him could we be sure the next appointment will be any good? SR have a very easy ride, in my opinion they came with their double glazing salesmen chatter and pulled the wool over Semmens eyes, giving a view of how they were going to reinvent football and he/the powers that be fell for it. 2 or 3 years down the road we will find out if indeed they have funds, I doubt it, and wonder if the club will be burdened with large debt.
