What makes you 10 levels higher? Im sure his pass to Charly was no worse than Maccas at Newcastle. When we watch Ramsdale every week we may see issues that we haven't on TV. Ramsdale is a better keeper but I personally feel hes not that much better. Im grateful to Macca for how he performed last season and on Saturday he kept the score down.

Im comfortable with Macca, he cant kick the ball that well but hes not that poor. As I said if we get Ramsdale that's fine, but I'm not that sure he's that much better. Time will tell.

Having a centre forward who can for the last 15 minutes who can shake up the opponents when we need a goal is what we called out for in the last 2 games. I dont want to play hoof-ball but I do want us to actually make the opponents defence feel they have had a game. This was not the s=case Saturday. Their centrehalfs were smoking cigars in comfy chairs all game

The reason for that is the club invested in a young keeper who they thought was the bees knees. It turns out he was Nora Battys knees. He also was up against Forster, after he had a poor period. Now working under a highly rated goal keeping coach his sharpness has returned. Personally I am cool with him being our number 1. I assume you wouldn't have Nick Pope just look how useless he is with his feet, he is an absolute joke kicking the ball but he does what a goalkeeper should do, save the ball. I have been going to games for a very long time and Shilton was terrible kicking the ball out unless it was a drop kick launch. Niemi a fantastic keeper but he wasnt one you could trust with his feet.

Sadly I fear that RM is so set on his principles that we wont give TP the chance. I was hopeful at the end of last season that RM started to be pragmatic and go a little against his ways, but it seems he is out to prove his system is going to work just to show his critics he was right all along.

That is so disrespectful of Macca, ok he's not the best with his feet, but without him I doubt we would have promoted and secondly we would have lost by far more on Saturday.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Forest. They are a decent side and will be safe mid table. Their physicality compared to us was very noticeable. Just watching their subs dwarfing ours as they warmed up with their build and athleticism was noticeable, the same on the pitch. I have wondered for years why we seem to buy/develop slight players rather than strong athletic players who can intimidate and knock players off the ball. I notice also people saying about Macca, he may be poor with the ball at his feet but he saved us from a hammering Saturday. I assume fans wouldn't want us to have Pope, who is appalling with the ball at his feet, comocal really.

I usually agree with you MG but McCarthy is not good with his feet, the rest of his game is ok. Look at the top end keepers eg Alison and Edison both made major gaffes last season.
