  1. Watch out for spurs stationary department running out of plain brown envolopes around January time. Who will be the obscure loan signing this time who doesn't get on the pitch?
  2. Don't think it was really Strachans fault, I think he's just lost motivation and needed to move back up north closer to his family and roots. The last time I saw him play for us he was about the same size as Hammil, I'm sure in one of his final seasons he even managed to pick up 5 yellow cards in 4 appearences from the bench (The 5th comming while he was sat on the bench) and get suspended. Was a shame as I've always rated him.
  3. I thought at the start of the season they said both shirts would be for a single season? Personally I'm hoping this 1 year thing for the away kit is a one off so they can then have it on a two year cycle out of synch with the first team strip. To those wiching the yellow kit will be our second strip I wouldn't hold your breath, it's not a good seller and thats the bottom line, people like the grey/black kits that look ok with a pair of jeans. I can't remember the last time our second strip was the yellow one.
  4. Can't see how they can possibly prove this beyond reasonable doubt, the defence lawyers must be licking there lips in anticipation of a nice easy fee.
  5. Paul Jones always seems to get alot of undeserved stick for me, he made very few real mistakes yet always gets singled out as a dodgy keeper. Paul Telfer and Paul Williams also did really well for us especially in the early Strachan days, Paul Williams managed to be an almost seemless replacment for Dean Richards which was no mean achievment.
  6. Have a look at there squad, they have plenty of central midfield options what they lack is a keeper who can keep and a centre forward or two as backup. For me AL would fill neither option for them so he would be a bit of a luxury allthough I wouldn't put it passed old saggy chops to buy him just to **** us off.
  7. Possible but very very unlikely, the ground isn't worth very much as realestate given the location and the current financial crisis. the bank are much more likely to transfer the loan arrangment to the new owners with maybe a slight renegotiaiton as they will see more money in the long run.
  8. That makes sense, I mean why would we want a player who when fit would walk into pretty much every team in the leagues starting eleven?
  9. I know this has been answered dozens of times but my power of the search function is weak and I can't seem to find the answer! Could one of the stato's please tell me how many players have actually played for Southampton since relegation or if thats to tricky how many players have been at the club regardless of whether they played or not?
  10. Which means you would have seen Patrick Colletter play which would make you a liar.
  11. Looking at these best 11's is a real eye opener, most of these players have only been in our first team for less than a season! The rate of player turn over since relegation is frightening, anyone know how many players have actually worn the saints shirt since that dreaded day?
  12. £30 seems bloomin reasonable after paying £29 to watch Sheffield Wednesday V's Norwich on the weekend!
  13. Every quote I've ever had from a builder/plaster etc has always been x amount + VAT not x amount inculding VAT there fore the builder will be able to keep his price the same. If I was preparing quotes that had a set period of time they are vlid for I would always quote without VAT.
  14. Thats our youth academy, I rekon it must have been designed to only produce midgets so they could save a few quid getting kiddie length beds in. I've yet to see a normal size man emerge from the ranks.
  15. Boring....These people have no intention of giving the club money, besides why would the bank allow them to loan money that is only to be spent on players when we owe them millions? any cash injection will disapear into the repayments unless it's massive.
  16. isn't he left footed? Besides his lack of height could be just as easily exploited at full back as it can be in midfield, the oposition just drop long balls into his area all night. I'm not sure it's fair to pick on his size either from what I've seen he's been one of our most consistent performers this season and i'm surprised it's taken so long for him to get a shot at the first team.
  17. Might be a non league side in a public park being watched by a few hundred people and a dog. I wouldn't be so sure we will survive administration there will be clubs disapear as has happened in the past I just hope we are not the first to have to start again from the bottom.

  19. before the john news 2-1 saints, now 2-1 swansea
  20. Hmmm, thats a bit worrying we now have three teeny bopper strikers with all the physical presence of a wet blanket! Whats this Patterson Character in the reserves like? It looks like he maybe getting the call sooner than we all thought assuming he's not yet another midget to come out of our specialist dwarf academy! Clutching at straws but maybe it's time for Euell to refind his goal scoring touch, he was pretty hiighly rated as a youngster and we sure as hell need someone to start banging the goals in! Maybe leicester will loan us Howard he may not be total football but he knows where the goal is at. I really really can't believe just how far we have fallen in such a short space of time maybe it's time to face the reality that maybe saints won't be here forever afterall? I'm not so sure the current economic climate is going to make poping in and out of administration the straight forward procedure it has been for other clubs. Lets hope we don't go the way of Acrington Stanley and Aldershot.
  21. I'm not surprised others think we are relegation candidates when half our fans also think we are!
  22. I was going to start a similar thread, I don't get to many games being based up north and always busy infact last night was my first game since the Sheffield Wednesday embaressment last season. What a contrast in Kelvin at Wednesday last year he was giving the fans the bird and playing worse than my gran yet last night he was incredible stopping shots, comming for crosses and organising his deffence then to top it all off the fans finished the match singing super Kelvin! What a remarkable turn around, it may have taken a couple of seasons but it looks like he's finally got his confidence back and we are seeing some return on our investment. On a side note great effort from the fans last night not a huge turn out but still contributed more to the atmosphere than the home contingent in the first 60 minutes!
  23. Plenty of street parking in the area just get there early if you want to minimise the walk. Avoid parking at B&Q and other stores in the area as they have been known to get a bit generous with the fines!
  24. Reminds me of the good old days when we had at least one totally random signing a season, think Frederico "The Torpedo" Arias or Andrei Kanchelskis! PS I hope he performs better than both of those did in a saints shirt, I still can't believe old Andrei got Matty's shirt!
  25. I love the saints, but I dsiapare at how far we've fallen. I remember not so long ago being pround to be a saints fan now I'm just shocked and bemused. I log on looking for a pre-view of this weekends game and discover yet another bizare transfer, we need a nother striker like we need a hole in the head. Portaloo out!! it's time for a real manager if he's not making the decisons surely a real man would have jacked it in already, if we don't show some balls soon this club will disapear without trace.
