Would be an excellent signing if true, he was good on loan at Derby and the Norwich faithful rated him this season even if the manager didn't!
-
Never had a problem with Jamie, he chose to come here played well while he was here and never looked anything but committed which is more than can be said for some of the other dross that was at the club.
-
Thats wasn't the season that made up his mind, it was after we were relegated and we were playing with dozens of different CB's and he still didn't get a look in until Burley arived by which time it was too late. The way Craine was treated by Burley was a joke, we had Pele, Powell, Chris Baird and Viafara all picked at centre back ahead of him and then when he finally got a look in he looked absolute quality in the play off second leg by which time it was to late to keep his attention away from the big money. This left us in the ridiculous situation last year of playing anyone who could kick a ball at CB because we had let all our decent procpects go.
-
I thought both him and Craine were terribly delt with by the club, we've had a centre back shortage since we were relegated and how neither of them ever got a run is beyond me? Both would have walked into our side at the start of this season and probablt still would.

Thats two very badly timed injuries for the lad, got to feel for him. It's not going to help his development any but he's easily shown enough potential to be worth a new deal he looks to be one of the most skillfull players we've produced in a long time and also knows where the goal is which is something some of the others seem to lack.

It was Stern John who played for the columbus crew before he joined Nottingham Forest way back when. Kenwyne played for a tiny club in trinidad and I believe we paid them a % of the transfer fee when he left so that should be them out of the loop. I doubt we have a sell on clause as we got what looked at the time to be top dollar for him, 20-20 hindsight probably says we were conned! The Stern John transfer is not conected in anyway both clubs stressed this at the time.

For what ever reason Cork didn't want to play for us, get over it move on. If he had really wanted to stay here he would have done any sums of money involved won't be massive and I'd give you good odds on his spell here having cost us nothing. He went to Watford for what ever reason, be it a coach he knew or the fact that it's close to family and friends who cares he's gone. I doubt the clubs stance had anything to do with his decision. All that needs to be said is thanks for the commitment and performances and anytime your looking for a new club pop in and say hello!

I haven't had a players name on my shirt since he left I just can't bring myself to have anyone other than the little number 17 pure genius when he was fit. He loved the club and we loved him I was gutted that he didn't get to say a final goodbye to the fans from the playing field with his boots on.

Contract to the end of the season, pay as you play got to be worth a gamble!
-
combined transfer fees totaling????
-
yes and they've got darren moore
-
I'd have him back, just for his ridiculous crossfield passes to his polish friend Kasowski, thought he was a bit hard done by especially as Harry had him playing right back when he clearly wasn't built for it!

Youngest league manager - about a week?
-
Pele is a great shout, he would really fit in to the current formation as one of the players infront of the back 4.
-
Think we might get him till the end of the season as I don't think Chelsea have made there minds up about his long term future yet. When/if he leaves Chelsea it will be for a reasonable prem side like Bolton or Pompey.

Dyer loan ended at weekend - reporting back for training "in New Year"

Because there is nothing to tell? Jan obviously wants to keep him and it looks like he wants to stay so they are probably waiting on Chelsea to make up there minds. To me Corks situation deppends on wether or not Chelsea think he will make the grade if they do then he will probably stay with us to the end of the season for experience if they don't then they will probably sell him off to Bolton or Pompey etc. Back on topic I'm glad to see Dyer back were are desperatley short of a right winger and when he's on his game he is an outstanding player at this level let's just hop a few months up north has sorted his attitude a little and got his focus back. -
I'm assuming the OP was meaning big names in terms of our club as otherwise we've only ever made about 1 really big name signing and that was Kegan. Crouch was a reasonably big name with a couple of pretty big money transfers behind him, he'd just fallen off the Radar a little after not really hitting the heights at Villa. He was certainly well known amongst the fans even of most were not convinced. The other two are a bit different as they came from oiutside England allthough Niemi must have been reasonably well known or Utd wouldn't have been interested and I've always felt Killer would have signed for a bigger club than us years before if he'd been blessed with a little more pace. Since relegation I'd say the two biggest names we've signed are Rasiac and John both of whom for me were resounding successes who were let down by the club not the other way round as is so common. Before that your probably looking at Kevin Phillips. Obviously the list of failures is long and distinguished with the stand outs for me being David Hirst, Stuart Ripley and Andrei Kanchelskis.
-
You're right probably shouldn't have included him, he looked half decent when I saw him against Notts County in the Carling cup was a shame the rest of the team didn't turn up that night! The other two would probably be pretty decent for us in our current situation too so I guess the real question is where is Imnats Bliedellis when we need him?
-
I suspect they could both use a break from the firing line, it is afterall there first season as first team regulars. Normally we could ease them in and out around and experienced spine but that does not seem to be happening!
-
gillet & Robertson in, McGoalduff & Euell out on Boxing day please.
a1ex2001 replied to AndyD's topic in The Saints
Bit harsh on gillett that, I thought he had a storming start to the season and then went off the boil a little before he was injured. Probably just needed a week or so out of the firing lines like all our kids could do with. -
Was going to say that if he ever gets a first team apearence I'll eat my hat but then I realised with some of the players we've fielded this year anything is possible. Hell even Sarmiento, Arias and Challa would have gotten into this side!
-
Tell that to Stuart Pearce and Ian Wright who were both playing non-league at his age becuase the big clubs had decided they were not up to it? There are loads of other examples Geof Horsfield was carrying bricks inbettween games in his early twenties.
-
I'd like to see Gillett back in the side his ebergy and commitment is fantastic, just a shame he's another one of the dwarf brigade, if he was 6'2" and played in the same way he'd be imence.
-
Forest were at £27 a ticket in league 1 a couple of seasons ago when I went with a Carlisle fan, it was well over the top for the standard but the turnout was still fantastic.
