  1. This! Kelvin I couldn't catch a cold giving us the bird really was the iceing on the cake, I thought that was the end of his saints career but he has managed an impressive turn around! Just remembered Mark Crosselys injury time equaliser at Wednesday as well which was pretty poo.
  2. It's not revisionist, there were plenty of people at the time telling Harris that he was killing the cream of British and Comenwealth youth in a pointless bombing campaign that was achieving little to no good. Pleanty of people told him where better to use his forces but he new best and stuck to his guns right up to the end. The real criminals are the politicians who knew he wasn't doing the right think but lacked the moral courage to sack him and replace him with a much more sensible commander in chief. Thats not to take away from the bravery or the los of those who flew with Bomber Command and this memorial to there loss is long over due.
  3. Surely though the Paras with there silly extra payment for being jump trained should go afterall they have not made a significant jump on active service since the second world war, unless yo count the Suez fiasco or special forces ops in Afghan. What our military really needs is total transformation into a modern fighting force. 1. Ditch the airforce it's another pointless expensive set of top brass and the army and navy already have air corps that could take the personel and equipment. This would also remove the endless squables over who gets the new toys and the crazy situation of different section using different aircraft for the same thing 2. Ditch all the regiments and start again from the ground up with a system that reflects the need of a modern combat force not 1000 years of tradition
  4. Would expect him on the bench regardless given that I'm sure his versatility was one of the main reasons for his selection, as a substitute he gives so many options and covers so many positions it would be stupid not to.
  5. Everything crossed for a win, scrappy 1-0 or stunning 6 goal thrashing I don't care, I really want the promotion confirmed and the shot at the title on the last day.
  6. 15 months for ABH are you nuts this is the UK he's much more likely to get a slap on the wrist and some litter picking for such a minor charge.
  7. When did Harding become this sites latest scapegoat? Let me guess a bad performance at right back and suddenly he's written off while a couple of decent games from fox must have him on Harva's hit list? People crack me up we have 2 perfectly capable first team left backs plus Shaw and dickson!
  8. Is a very cheap fake! Bolt on neck, wrong shape head stock and trussrod cover kid is just an attention seeking idiot!
  9. Richard Dawkins got made to look like a right plank over this! The figures from the census clearly support the idea we are a Christian country over 50% of people say they are. The Christian religion does not require the practice of rituals or the attendance of church all you need is belief and you are a christian.
  10. Indeed, I'm hoping for a few more than three years though! He has a great injury record and doesn't seem to pick up niggles and knocks easily which is a great sign for his longevity, like you said his game doesn't rely on pace and with a younger quicker player alongside him I could see him plaing into his late thirties.
  11. This legislation will not effect your £4 pint, the proposal will be a minimum price per unit which will in effect outlaw super market deals on cans and probably some of the really nasty value brand spirints and white lightning type cider. If anything it could have a positive impact on pub prices as more people might be inclined to go to the local instead of drinking cheap can's at home before going out like some rabid pikeys. Sadly it's onlt the first step and I would expect to see booze attacked like fags were with ever increasing taxation afterall the government needs to make up for falling revenue from petrol and fags somewhere, expect to see a proliferation in homebrewing!
  12. it's not really a win or else situation but it sure as hell feels like one, we need a turning point and I'd certainly love for this to be it!

    Adkins

Said this thread was looming a couple of weeks ago and this is where our season could start to fall apart fans booing at matches will soon turn to chanting for the manager out and then we will be left where we have always been in recent years after the revolving door spins. Gutted that our fans are so fickle.
  14. Thank **** for that, we sound like a shower of shore tonight and it's my bloomin birthday!

    Jack Saville

Full respect to the lad unlike so many he wants to get out their and play not just pick up a pay check hope it works out well for him.
  16. Mid to high 80's should cover it so 10 wins and some draws, obviously I'd prefer to do it in style but scrapping it out on the last day would be ok too!
  17. Now the Japs weren't horrible nasty RACIST scum during the second world war they were just horrible nasty scum.
  18. Been to a dozen or so away games in the last couple of seasons and guess what ................ I'm quite happy to sit in my seat and enjoy watching the game!!!!! Sorry for being such a rubish supporter but the reason I go is to WATCH the footy if I wanted to sing and dance I'd go join the line for Britains got Talent. I'm much less bothered by those like myself who sit and enjoy the game than the moronic yoof who seem to follow us around the country giving it the big I am bunch of feckless inbred idiots.
  19. How long before the first poster calls for his head, I reckon a defeat on the weekend and we will hear the first rumblings from the usual suspects and if we follow that with another loss they will be screaming to get him out the door. Nigel has lead the team to promotion and then the top of the league above, we are having a blip live with it. Nobody expected us to be in anything like this position this season and compared to where we were three short years ago I can't believe how far we've come. Win loose or draw, this is the best saints side we've seen since relegation. Automatic, Play offs or no promotion we will still have had an amazing season. Quit the moaning and get behind the Saints, a few bad results doesn't define our season just like the amazing run before them didn't lets see where we are come may.
  20. Does rather doesn't it, I don't seem to remember Delgado and Chala taking this long to arrive from Ecuador in fact I seem to remember a very cold looking Chala warming up at Bolton in the Carling cup within days of signing. More recently the much hearlded Sarmiento managed to arrive from Argentina in double quick time as did the equally effective Marcel Tejera from Uraguay. Was really optomistic about this signing but I've now got the alarm bells ringing and I'm normally reall positive about anything saints related.
  21. Looking at the you tube video Hooper is just like Lineker the master of the two yard tap in, doubt he's quite upto that level so maybe more like a better version of Raziac, right place at the right time etc
  22. Could you stop doing pieces on him and take the quick flight accross and help him pack his bags, if it takes much longer I'll start to think he's not real.
  23. I think it's pretty much make or break time for Ryan, he desperately needs to go on loan somewhere and be a massive success much like Lallana and Surman were at Bournemouth. He seemed to have some real momentum behind him a year or so ago but successive disapoint loan spells have left him looking like an also ran which is a real shame as I had high hopes for him. He could still turn it around but time is fast running out.
  24. Exactly and there is still no guarentee he will make it so saying he should stay here for his development is madness, a footballer has a very short career and an unproven teenager can go from being the next best thing to non league very quickly (ask Jamie White once linked with Bareclona/Real and now nowhere) if Arsenal offer big money he will go it's part of life but if that money keeps the club financially stable and allows us to bring in a few more players then all is good. Don't get me wrong I'd love to keep our best prospects but it just doesn't work like that as has been pointed out even Arsenal and Man Utd sell players they would rather keep. What I hope is that the further we go on this journey the longer the youngsters will stay and while we will still loose the absolute cream of the crop eventually hopefully the second tier accademy products like Lalanna and Chris Baird will stay for good.
