  1. So negative and focussed on one thing, on balance we have had a decent window we’ve lost some good/great players but held onto a few as well and have made some great additions the squad looks balanced we have good players playing in their best positions. Top six should be an absolute minimum expectation while realistically we should be top 2/3.
  2. Did we actually sign this chap or not such a load of bollocks around this deal today it’s so annoying!
  3. Unhappy Che has looked more than good enough so far this season, I'm sure he'd soon get over his disappointment and knuckle down to earn a transfer in January. Replacing him has always been my main worry so if he stays I'd be fine with Stewart not joining we could always go back for him in January when he has proved his fitness and run his contract down even more.
  4. 5pm so they need to get there skates on hopefully we are holding out till the last second for the maximum fee!
  5. Bless him he's still not learnt that you don't get your favourite players name and number on this seasons shirt until the window SLAMS shut, poor little didums must have saved all his paper round money up for that.
  6. Lol, nicely dug up from the barrel of absolute shite we signed back then! It happens all the time players drop down expecting to be first choice but actually find it much harder in the championship than they expected

    Che Adams

This, the Nathan Jones experiment was the driving force behind our relegation I suspect if Ralph had stayed we would have scraped survival, the decision to appoint Jones and then stick with him for more than a week and let him blow a huge wedge of money on a lump of a striker for his hoof ball tactics was shocking. If I was a player who had just lost 40% of my income and had the prospect of regaining that plus a nice signing on bonus I would be all over it and I find it funny how people expect footballers to react differently to the man in the street. I would hand my notice in tomorrow for a 10% pay rise let alone 40%! We will miss him if he goes he has shown enough already this season to convince me that he would manage a significant goal return and that will be hard to replace.
  8. I prefer the old Heskey line 'His first touch is so poor his second touch is a sliding tackle'
  9. Seems to be in and out of the side the last couple of years which I have always felt was odd as he is one of our better creative options, if he is going to start regularly I wouldn't mind him being Captain not that I think it makes a great deal of odds who wears the arm band it is a bit of a British obsession that the rest of the world find a bit bizzare.
  10. That looks promising, I looked on the city and saints sites and a few twitter links that didn't mention it, getting him in on loan looks like a great piece of business getting him permanently for as little as 20m if we go up looks like a steal. Very happy with this deal lets hope the rest of the day goes as well!
  11. Where are you seeing the obligation to buy reported the club don't mention it?
  12. exactly, unless the loan fee is pretty much the same as the transfer fee we wanted from Everton which would equally make no sense to me but then the way football clubs seem to be running there finances makes no sense to anyone these days!
  13. That Legacy thing on his arm is one of the worst Tattoos I've ever seen not only does it look like a kid designed and drew it but it is so cringeworthy that it almost defies belief!
  14. Lol did you literally just read the first line of my post and miss the but where I said we have been shite at buying players for big money in recent years?
  15. Lol note I said SHOULD! And then referenced the fact all our record transfers like Guido turn out shite because we have done so badly at buying expensive players in recent years. Surely we are due some luck with a few that turn out to be good business!
  16. Because the cost of a transfer should at least be some indication of quality even if our recent business hasn’t always demonstrated this! At least we won’t be breaking our transfer record this summer as that is normally a disaster!
  17. Agree I assume in the background we have been sounding clubs and players out about potential deals so should Che leave then we will be able to move reasonably quickly for a replacement. If Che goes and we don’t replace him with proven quality then I would say our shot at promotion this season is over, we look so much better when he’s on the pitch and if he keeps getting goals his confidence level will shoot up and the quality in our midfield could see him the leagues top scorer.
  18. Lol and the dodgy was it Chilean midfielder Harry signed and never played!
  19. Have they actually released him? He had another two years to run on his contract so that would have cost them a fortune as it would need to be paid in full and obviously no transfer or load fee if he goes to Saudi then. Impressed if they have just written all that cash off. In response to the OP no not in a million years would I want to see him in a saints shirt (or hopefully any other professional clubs) the lad has crossed a line that I hope he will ever come back from he may have dodged jail time but I don’t think he will save his career.

    Flynn Downes

How many medicals is he having lol He doesn’t seem exactly desperate to join up does he!
  21. The problem is they got lucky recently as we did for a while when selling all our best players. The luck will run out and they will sign some flops before landing up at the wrong end of the league again. No club can consistently sell all there best players and replace them.

    Flynn Downes

Still not got over that dodgy curry he had on the weekend? I guess the move to a better club his agent promised would materialise if he was on the verge of joining us never materialised! Could Downes be our mega exciting last minute of the transfer window loan signing?
  23. I'd agree, he's well spoken and has always come across as reasonably sharp combined with a decent career and the inevitable recognition he has from the way he exploded onto the scene with the world cup call up. I would have kept him for another season for me he showed enough in the second half of last season when he was playing regularly to suggest that he was more than capable of doing a job at this level the first team has already featured several player who didn't get close to his level last season so it seems a shame for him to retire when he could have bookended his career with a championship winners medal following our inevitable promotion!

I’ve got to the point where I don’t think he is going to sign this has dragged on too long. Who is the next cab off the rank?

    Coronavirus

Reads like a very reasonable and well thought out approach to 'living with COVID' much like we do with other seasonal viruses, I'm sure we will continue to vaccinate the elderly and vulnerable and monitor for new strains just as we do with flu and over time it will no longer be news worthy as it will just be another part of the yearly cycle. Hardly worth posting about even now and give it a couple of years nobody will talk about COVID and vaccines it will just be there.
