  1. The trouble is that a functional democracy relies on having a well informed intelligent electorate, to allow them to evaluate what politicians say and choose appropriately. Unfortunately recent British history shows that our electorate is no well informed or capable of the critical thinking necessary to asses the messages delivered by politicians and make appropriate choices. The electorate is to easily led by liars and charlatans and incapable of processing anything beyond three word slogans and obvious othering.
  2. Given his none saints goal scoring record I would expect him to be a solid goal scorer in the championship doesn’t mean he will make it in the prem but not using him in the championship was dense.
  3. Totally agree it is nice to be talking about a game we could have (probably should have) won rather than another error strewn mess where we topped the possession stats without ever looking like scoring. If we carry on in that vain for the rest of the season we will pick up goals and hopefully be in a position to hit the ground running next season. We know this squad is more than capable of an immediate return to the top flight.

    Ivan Juric

BBC reporting an 18 month contract will be interesting what we go for.
  5. Unless he really impressed over the remainder of the season which I’m sure will be the hope on both sides. What ever happens it sounds like he will give the team a kick up the backside and get them fitter and playing more aggressively all of which is a good thing ahead of a season in the championship.
  6. Skacel/Burley dream team it is then both are available, know the club and have loads of experience…
  7. Moyes spent more time at West Ham in the last ten years than anywhere else and was very successful, saved them from relegation twice and then led them to two record finishes and a European trophy. Makes him more successful than anywhere else saints manager in about 50 years!
  8. Much better we still lost but at least we went out and tried to win the game Martin would have had us recycling the ball around the back four for the last ten minutes to make sure we won the vital possession stat and to keep Jan top of the touches league!
  9. Martin would have probably substituted the entire 11 after 15 minutes with those stats!
  10. Exactly, anyone who takes the job now needs to be willing to manage in the championship next season as that is where we will be for this reason the Potters and Moyes of this world won't be coming we would have needed a reasonable shot at survivable to stand any hope of attract that type of manager. Rohl will be managing in the Championship next season if he joins us or not so he has to look at next season and which club gives him the best opportunity to be successful and step up to the next level.
  11. Eddie Howe was a mediocre mid table championship manager not long ago and the fan base would cream themselves if we appointed him today! Appointing overseas managers is no guarantee of success it’s easy to cherry pick both ways. I loved watching Saints under Gordon Strachan and he was a failed premier league manager coaching in the championship when we signed him! The trouble is nothing in football ball is guaranteed, I would be happy with either if the current championship manager contenders because they are successful and favour a style of football I like. Equally I would be happy with a decent overseas appointment etc and then it will just been down to luck as is the case with all managerial appointments/transfers etc at our level. Sadly we are not rich/big enough to attract anything close to guaranteed success.
  12. I think the point being made is at the point Potter became a premier league manager he hadn’t achieved a great deal in the championship but it worked out! Not all managers in the championship is Jones or Martin!
  13. I live in Sheffield and Wednesday fans absolutely love both him and Rohl and will be gutted to see either leave in January. They rate Charles one of the best players they’ve seen at the club in donkeys years. I’d take Rohl simply because he shows a bit of passion and knows how to get good results from a below average group, Wednesday looked as good as relegated when he took over last season but he turned them round and and then this year has them well up the table and I would say punching above their weight given spend.
  14. I’ll be happy if the team look fitter, harder to beat and we go forward with intent. I fully accept we are relegated but if Sheffield united can go down in an utter shambles and now stand top of the league then so can we!
  15. Why? He could be Wednesday manager for the next 5 seasons and achieve nothing more than top half finishes the club is a mess off the pitch. If he joins us this time next season he could be top off the championship about to take us back up with a shot and managing a team he has built in the biggest league in the world. Saints are an opportunity for an aspiring manager Wednesday are not going to get him to that level anytime soon.
  16. A great season for Rohl at Wednesday would be a top half finish the club is an absolute mess off the pitch. If he joins saints he basically has half a season to get the team playing his way and then a great chance of bouncing straight back with one of the richest teams in the league. If he’s ambitious he jumps ship.
  17. Who ever is taking training tomorrow morning has a better chance of keeping us up even if it’s the tea lady and groundsman.
  18. Nathan Jones dusting off his CV? Mark Hughes is available? serious idea I’d take Danny Rohl from Wednesday, now’s how to organise a side and get them fighting.
  19. No mention of course of stripping the hair pulling twat of the captaincy, he shouldn’t play again for a very long time let alone wear the armband he let himself and the team down massively this evening the utter cock.
  20. He didn’t seem to get quite so lambasted in the press every week, oh and he’s Vincent Company not some knob head who played for Norwich!
  21. Because they can’t face the tedium of passing the ball backwards and sideways for another half hour?
  22. He’s never going to be prolific at the highest level had a good start in Italy and now it’s gone quite much like when he played for us. He is a 100% player but doesn’t have the consistency if he did he would be very very good.
  23. He might have been before all the injuries and basically a two year break from the game. His chances of making a successful comeback must be tiny now very few players make it back to the top consistently after so long out.
  24. Look on the bright side we are winning the possessions stats now!
  25. Not even winning the possession stats RM will have to get the hair dryer out 😂
