Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, but I don't see how you can say the bible is full of truth. It's mostly a collection of folk tales that have changed over the centuries and been interpreted by the various churches to reinforce their particular prejudices. If you want to believe what's in the bible, that's fine, but I wouldn't say that it's full of proven facts.

There are instances with birds where 2 males will rear chicks or a male will help to incubate the eggs of another pair. Mallards in particular are known to form same-sex pairs, especially if there is a shortage of females.

EDL 10,000 People March (Oh Ok then maybe just a 1000)
ecuk268 replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
How can you say that the EDL are racist when EDL member Allan Hetherington-Cleverley spent four years in prison for smuggling Chinese immigrants across the Channel. Maybe the £20000 he received from a dodgy Albanian persuaded him to welcome them to our shores. -

Richard Price - West Midlands Co-ordinator for the EDL has just been banged up for 3 months for violent behaviour. Also done for possessing indecent images of children and placed on the Sex Offenders Register. (Source - The Times). -
They're a bit like an old married couple - constantly sniping away. Probably, deep down, they have secretly repressed desires for each other but can't bring themselves to admit it. C'mon chaps, you can't fool us, come out of the closet.

If you do a bit of digging regarding the author and the organisation, you'll find that they're not entirely objective.

I would agree on the age thing. Anyone with kids knows that you need a lot of energy to keep up with growing children. As a wealthy couple, they'll have plenty of help, but EJ will be in his late 70's when his son is a teenager - it's a big gap. As for having 2 male parents, I don't see it as a problem. You only have to look at some of the specimens wandering about Southampton to see that having heterosexual parents is no guarantee of a good upbringing.

Just been watching a programme about Thin Lizzy, who he was with for a while. Great band. It was Phil Lynott's ambition to get Gary into the band and he really added something extra.

Probably because his ignorance, bigotry, huge generalisations and inability to put forward a logical argument are so ridiculous that it gives us a good laugh.

I'm at the top end of Shirley and have had Virgin (phone, TV and 10mb broadband) for ages and have had few problems. Speeds are very good. They did some work in the green street cabinets before Xmas and my TV went all pixelly. Phoned them up and the 1st Asian gentleman didn't have a clue. Phoned again and got a different bloke who diagnosed the problem and sent an engineer who fixed it.

Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher or Ian Smith.

I think that he suffered by taking over from Lawrie Mac. He was a complete contrast - quiet, intelligent, uncomfortable in front of the media and probably a bit over-cautious. But he certainly produced some good footy - the 4-1 thrashing of Liverpool (when they were one of the top European teams) remains one of my best Saints memories. Even miserable King Kenny admitted it could have been 8-1. He also got the best out of Jimmy Case, in my opinion one of our best ever midfielders.

Elton is happily civil-partnered and has just had a baby. I thought it was Gary Glitter.

Lawrie was good for SFC, but SFC were very good for Lawrie. He did a good job that he was well paid for and has since made a comfortable living on his past glories. Do ex-Managing Directors of Tesco get their shopping free when they go back? I'm glad that he still supports the team, but see no reason why he shouldn't pay for his ticket like everyone else.

Je parle un peu de francais, mais je ne suis pas un specialiste. Far from putting you at a disadvantage, I've found that the French really appreciate you trying to speak their language and are usually very helpful.

There seems to be an assumption that, because you vote for a party, you agree with everything that they do (or promise to do, not the same thing (bankers bonuses, VAT)). I'm broadly centre-left, pro_EU as long as it doesn't go too far, believe in a strong NHS and state education and equality of opportunity for all. However I'm probably a bit right-wing on crime. Everyone deserves a second chance but, if they don't take it, lock 'em up. Also your home should be your castle. If I want to put broken glass on the top of my wall, why not? If someone enters my house uninvited, I want the right to whack them with a shovel. Yours confusedly, ecuk268

Isn't that's what's known as an oxymoron? You can't vote for "no change", hamster, as no one elected the coalition.
-
I think that he may have greater problems with the right wing of his party, many of whom resent his concessions to the LibDems and what they see as a an almost centre-left approach to Government.

Was Ervine hero or villain? Went for 21 off his 1 over, out 1st ball in the OOPSE but made a useful 32.

Dave Cameron said in the Tory Manifesto that no banker in bailed out banks would be allowed a bonus of more than 2k. http://www.conservatives.com/News/News_stories/2009/02/No_bank_bonuses_over_2000.aspx He wouldn't lie, would he? Oh yeah, he also said "We have no plans to increase the rate of VAT".

Watching the first few episodes of "Boardwalk Empire" . It's about the prohibition era in the US. Due to be shown on the new Sky Atlantic channel next month. Another quality offering from HBO.

Mobile speed camera at Bitterne Lances Hill
ecuk268 replied to mightysaints's topic in Motoring Forum
If speed cameras are a way of making money, why are some local authorities turning them off "to save money"? Surely they should be installing more to get even more cash. Let's face it, we all break the speed limit at times. If you get caught, just accept it, there's not really any excuse.
