  1. Same here. Should be based on the full amount. The credit from last season was for the games we missed so should be entirely separate. It was easier than them having to refund you the cash.
  2. But do you then need a mirror to read it?
  3. Is he wearing his wife's shoes?
  4. Been working my way through Prison Break. The plot has more holes than a Swiss cheese but I have to keep watching to see how they escape from the next impossible situation.
  5. If we get a new creative midfielder this month then let him go. If we don't we should hang on to him. Djenepo is a bit physically fragile and Ralph can't moan about the lack of depth in the squad if he gets rid of a player with some creativity (albeit not consistently enough).

How did that happen? I thought that all of our systems were "world beating"? Do you thing that Boris and Matt have been fibbing?

Remember, if you're in a group of more than 6, make sure that you have a Pheasant or Grouse with you then you'll be OK.
  9. Quite right. Sacked from The Times for lying. Michael Howard sacked him as a shadow minister and party vice-chairman for lying about his mistress having 2 abortions, used racist and homophobic language, refuses to say how many children he has. How much smearing can a man take?
  10. We account for 16% of their exports whereas they account for 43% of ours. I think that we've got more to lose than them.
  11. Indeed, with Japan accounting for a whopping 2% of our trade, it'll add 0.07% to our GDP. Out of the £15bn value of the deal, Japan gets 80%. Seems like a bargain.
  12. After DaGrosa sold Bordeaux he was looking to buy Roma. This was the message sent to Roma fans by Bordeaux fans: Roman friends, do not make the same mistake as Bordeaux with Da Grosa. This man and his gang (Hugo Varela) are crooks, they emptied the Bordeaux coffers and left like thieves (more than 50 M € deficit in 1 year) .DA GROSA OUT! ESPECIALLY DON'T SELL TO DA GROSA !
  13. I met Thatcher once. I was surprised how short she was.

  15. Williamson is the sacrificial goat if the back-to-school situation in September goes tits up. He can then be blamed for that as well and given the boot. If he'd gone now, his successor would have got off to a bad start.
  16. Makes you wonder what view prospective employers will take. This years cohort will be known as the ones that never actually sat any exams.

So this new health body "National Institute for Health Protection" is to be run by Dido Harding who was in charge at Talk Talk when had suffered a large data loss which ended up costing them £77m. She was also in charge of the not very good track and trace scheme. Her husband is a Tory MP who is on the board of a think tank who wanted to scrap PHE and also wants to replace the NHS with an insurance scheme. Hancock has assured us that the new body will be "world-renowned" obviously to go with the "world-beating" app that didn't work and the "world-beating" track and trace system. I never liked Thatcher or her policies but when you look at the calibre of some of her ministers like Hurd, Lawson, Carrington etc, they were serious politicians. This lot are just a bunch of lightweight yes-men none of whom would have got within a mile of Thatcher's cabinet.
  18. They certainly have smaller class sizes.
  19. Possibly, but then the ECHR would get involved (nothing to do with the EU) and it could drag on for ages. Also, if they seek asylum, we have to accept them under the Geneva Convention and then examine each case. As you say "if the will is there". Easier to kick the can down the road and put out the odd statement on how "tough" we are going to be. But, whatever you do, don't set targets. Of course we could resurrect May's "Go Home" vans. They were really effective weren't they?
  20. We can try but it can take years to process each case after numerous legal challenges and appeals.
  21. The Tories in Government (as opposed to the membership) have never been serious about immigration control. In the years leading up to Brexit, net immigration was about 300000 per year split roughly equal between EU and non-EU. They always had the power to control non-EU immigration but did nothing. They made tough-sounding noises (get it down to the tens of thousands) but that's just to placate the Mail and Express readers. Numerous studies have pointed out the net contribution that immigrants make to the economy and, while EU immigration may decrease, I doubt whether it will amount to much.
  22. We need the French to help prevent the immigrants leaving France. Once the agreement lapses, the French can just let them leave as they wish. It's not their problem anymore. They would probably be glad to see them go.
  23. So what? Why should the French cooperate when the the current agreement lapses at the end of the year?
  24. The Home Office are seeking "tougher action in France". I thought that Brexit meant controlling our borders (that was always a myth) so we're asking the French to do it for us. As we've left the EU, I doubt that the French will be very sympathetic. Somewhat ironic, but at least Britain First are doing their bit: https://newsthump.com/2020/08/09/britain-first-launch-english-channel-patrol-boat-hms-diffendor-of-are-cuntry/
  25. When I was a nipper, it was my job very Saturday evening to go off to the newsagents and get the footy Echo. But that was when all games were played on Saturday at 3.00pm. Now, with games being played virtually every day of the week, a Saturday night football paper isn't really feasible. The Echo is in slow decline. It seems to be run by one man and a dog and does very little real journalism. Most of it is regurgitated press releases.
