Serco have been outsourcing much of the call-centre work, often with little or no training. https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-money-investigations/revealed-travel-agent-lands-fresh-serco-test-and-trace-work-despite-staff-training-concerns/

With Dom gone it looks like Carrie's running the country now.

You have my sympathy. My life is neither sad nor lonely.

They have. Trump thought Murdoch was his mate, but Murdoch only likes winners so quickly switched sides. Same thing happened in '97 when he saw the writing on the wall and switched his support to Blair.

He must lead a sad lonely life.

It may be satire but has a ring of truth when you think of the head of the track and trace farce Dido Harding ( married to a Tory MP) and vaccine Tsar Kate Bingham (married to a Tory MP) who has spent £500000 on PR consultants instead of using the in-house ones. https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/health/government-to-ignore-breakthrough-vaccine-for-one-designed-by-old-oxford-chum-that-doesnt-work-20201110202393

Especially when they realise that it contains microchips so that Bill Gates can monitor us all

Well, after after making his MPs vote against feeding poor kids in the holidays, at least he stood by that vote. Oh, hang on a minute....

But it's also the length of exposure. Just walking past someone the exposure if likely to be fleeting and the amount of virus is likely to be small whereas, in a crowded building like a pub, you could be constantly exposed for a much longer time.

Well she's done her bit and produced a male heir. That's all she was wanted for.

I love a good conspiracy theory.

These people only profit because a considerable proportion of the population are a bit dim. If a "celebrity" endorses a product, it must be because they really believe that it's good, not because they're getting paid loads of money, right?

No racism in the Tory Party. https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/politics/the-tory-party-guide-to-purging-your-party-of-racism-20201030202033

I'm more concerned about the £12bn spent on the "world-beating" track and trace which has just had it's worst week. Boris was boasting that 100% of test results would be returned within 24 hours. Last week it was 15%. Despite local health authorities performing the best, the government continue to pour money into badly-performing private companies, many with links to the Tories. This Dido Harding woman who's supposed to be in charge seems to have vanished.

Brilliant. I bet that wound up the Daily Mail mob (in fact, that's probably why they did it).

I find it somewhat disturbing that the "world beating" track and trace system lost 16000 records recently. The apparent reason was that they were using Excel spreadsheets to store the data as it came in from around the country. They were using an ancient file format which had a limit of 64000 rows. The data was received in CSV files so if your had 100000 records to load, it would stop at 64000 and ignore the rest. Basic good practice is that you check the final record of your input file to make sure that it's the same as the final record of the spreadsheet. This obviously didn't happen. What with this and an app that won't load on older smart phones (including my 4-year old IPhone) it's one shambles after another.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

Technology is always moving forward. In California they are experimenting with a type of zinc battery which provides equal performance to Lithium while holding a charge for longer. They are also developing organic flow batteries (don't ask me to explain how they work) which have greater storage density, lower cost and more environmentally friendly. All this is for grid storage to smooth out the peaks and troughs of wind and solar power. -

That's where storage comes in. There's been considerable advances in storage technology, particularly using Lithium-Ion batteries. 95% efficient and storing up to 100MW. Quite costly at the moment but a lot of research going on to reduce this. Can be used with wind, solar and wave power and are already used in locations to cover breaks in conventional energy generation. -

Can you put forward any evidence to back up your strange equine-obsessed remarks? -

What other ports have the infrastructure to make much of an impact on the up to 10000 trucks that go through Dover every day? Can they take the large ferries that operate into Dover? How many ro-ro berths do they have (Dover can unload 7 ships simultaneously)? -

Like this perhaps: https://newsthump.com/2020/10/05/conference-tensions-as-tories-suspect-the-idle-bumbling-chancer-they-chose-as-leader-might-be-an-idle-bumbling-chancer/ -
