  1. You have doubts? What about all of the benefits that we were promised. We've got blue passports (although there was nothing stopping us having them before) and and and other things.......
  2. Shapps has thrown in the towel and supports Sunak.
  3. Died yesterday. Another victim of Alzheimer’s at the far too early age of 63.
  4. Saw an amusing quote by a Tory MP regarding Rishi Sunak: "He's incorruptible because he's so rich and is one of the few in the Cabinet who can do joined-up writing".
  5. Another Minister resigns. Stewart Andrew, who was apparently Housing Minister.
  6. Well, nobody else would give her a job.
  7. .....and got sacked from 2 jobs for telling lies and made racist and homophobic remarks?

    Andy Goram

Sadly, he's left us. Only 58.
  9. Stuart Broad has just broken the record for number of runs conceded in one over in Test cricket. He went for 35 bowling against India's tail-enders, banging the new ball in short, presumably trying to intimidate them. It didn't work. Heading should say 5th Test.
  10. I've heard better than that in a pub on a Saturday night.
  11. Used to do the pre-match phone-in on Radio Solent in the days when Grant Coleman was the Sports Editor. Also did the sport on South Today. https://www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/20235276.harry-gration-tributes-sudden-death-york-bbc-le
  12. The Tory candidate in Tiverton locked herself in a room and refused to come out and face the press. This has already been posted. How do you delete posts?

    Rail Strike

Network Rail has been operating engineering trains for years. They are equipped with lasers and ultrasound to detect faults in the line or the sleepers and track beds. They also use very high speed cameras (70000 frames/sec) capable of capturing every millimetre of track.

    Rail Strike

The government are quite right to condemn the unions. Damaging the economy and making people's lives a misery is the job of the Tory Party. They're really good at it.
  15. Boris is currently in hospital for a "sinus operation", at least that's what they're saying. Apparently it's actually to do something about this:
  16. Boris has now lost his 2nd ethics adviser after Lord Geidt tendered his resignation. To paraphrase Lady Bracknell: To lose one ethics adviser may be regarded as a misfortune, to lose two looks like carelessness.
  17. There was study by the LSE that used education attainment data for each of the the 348 voting districts in England and Wales to predict the voting outcome. In 91% of the districts they correctly classified the outcome based on the the proportion of degree-level voters. Adding other factors such as age, socio-economic status, ethnicity and sex only improved the results by a point or two. However, removing the educational data considerably reduced the accuracy of the predictions. https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/politicsandpolicy/educational-attainment-brexit/
  18. Not just the G7 but the G20 (excluding Russia).
  19. "There have been gun killings in 43 of the 50 US states in the two weeks since the Texas school shooting. More than 650 incidents have resulted in 730 deaths since 24 May, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive. Twenty-three of those who died were children, more than the total number who died at Uvalde, and 66 were teenagers". 23 children shot in 2 weeks? What is wrong with that country?

    Lee Todd

Rasiak didn't run around much but had the habit of being in the right place at the right time. 19 goals in half a season. We could use someone like that now.
  21. Really? What's 10% (or 1/10) of 13 stone 11 pounds? Or what's 10% of 83 kilos? Which is easier?
  22. To use the old joke from The Young Ones (not the Cliff Richard version): "If I told you darlin you'd think that I was talking about centimetres"
  23. Latest Brexit "benefit: Fruit farmers in Kent reckon that they'll have to leave nearly 10% of their crop unpicked as they can't get the labour. They'll accordingly plant less next year. Meanwhile, their customers (supermarkets) will import the shortfall from the continent.
  24. A short clip from Andy Murray who went through a similar experience as an 8 year-old at Dunblane. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/61640325
