They were talking to a Lockerbie resident on Radio 4 this morning. I think you should be banned for libelling God's Chosen City, the jewel of the South Coast. I lived in Ryde for 9 years and, while it was OK in the summer, the winter was a bit deadly. Also, if you wanted to go anywhere, the ferries were expensive and added an hour each way on to the journey. To be fair, I left in 1985 and since then it's gained a lot of the big chain stores so shopping's a lot better. The people are OK but they can be a bit inward looking, probably the same for all small islands.
