Forster, KWP, Lyanco, Bednarek, Perraud, Romeu, JWP, Elyounoussi, Tella, Broja, Adams. I'd revert back to 4-2-2-2 for this one. Stu struggles to play 3 games in a week so i'd give him a rest.

Whatever happens with Forster I just can't believe we gave a new contract to McCarthy. The only thing I can think is that we have a new number 1 lined up and McCarthy is going to be second choice.
-
I understand that and to be fair Ralph hasn't had a great deal to work with but what concerns me is that he doesn't seem to learn lessons from previous defeats. For me it was pretty obvious we should've switched to a 3 at the back a lot sooner than we did. In fact we played that formation away to Chelsea in the League Cup and it worked pretty well.

Has there been a worse home performance in recent memory?

If we had McCarthy in goal and Werner was a brilliant finisher then it could easily have been double figures. In terms of effort and organisation today was absolutely appalling. -
This really. How much have we improved in the last 4 years? I don't think we have at all.

Personally I thought it was a penalty. Salisu is really clumsy and needs to calm down in the challenge. That's two or three times he's cost us this season. Stephens clearly isn't the answer next to him. I'd like to see Valery given a proper chance at CB given he's looked pretty good when he's played there previously. Adam Armstrong does have good movement and seems to be an intelligent player but his finishing is very poor. It's almost as if he tries to hit the ball too hard. At least there were a few positives - I thought Stu was very good as were Livramento and KWP. Need to stop the rot against Leeds in a couple of weeks.
-
Time to get rid. The fact he doesn't fancy playing in our biggest game of the season because he's worried about getting injured says it all. New CB desperately needed in the summer.
-
Yep and then ran off at the end throwing his arms around. I wouldn't mind as much if he was playing well but he thinks he's a lot better than he is.
-
Would be more than happy to never see Bednarek play for the club again. Absolute twat.
-
I think chance creation is a better stat to go on than assists when looking at creativity as the player creating the chance has no real influence on whether his teammate is actually good at finishing.

St Maximin up against Stephens and Bednarek *shudders*
-
Valery is an odd one, looks so poor at RB but when he's played at CB this season he's been very solid. If Salisu is out for a few games I'd give him a run in the team.
-
Stephens is nowhere near good enough to be a regular starter for a premier league team. He is ok when playing in a low block but when the defence is a bit higher or he comes up against someone with pace he really struggles. Bednarek very similar, they are both last ditch defenders if you know what I mean.
-
The team pretty much picks itself. Hopefully we'll have Redmond and Tella back on the bench - Djenepo and Walcott just don't inspire any confidence at all.
-
Agreed. Like when he turned the defender on the byline in the first half - all it needed was a simple little pull back and it's 1-0. There are no arguments for not passing there as shooting himself was only a half chance.
-
Totally agree. If he went back to Chelsea tomorrow there is no way he would be in their side. His decision making is quite poor at the moment but no doubt that will improve with experience. Hence why I think they may sell him in the summer with a buy back clause, similar to Tammy Abraham.
-
Perraud injured? Other than Lyanco, McCarthy and Tella he is the only one not to be seen in any of the training galleries this week.
-
He has his flaws but then again a club like us is probably his level. He has less flaws than McCarthy who is diabolical IMO. Wouldn't be against keeping Forster on lower wages and bringing in a younger keeper to compete with him for the No.1 spot.
-
I suppose he rarely misses a game so yeah I get that. I just think that Stu is perfect for our system and the balance is affected so much when he isn't there.
-
Stuart Armstrong is definitely our most important player. I don't think anyone can really deny that. The win % stats with and without him are incredible.
-
Interesting question.. does Tino get back in this side? Perraud was man of the match tonight. Finally showing quality in the final third. He was like a prime Dani Alves tonight!
-
Forster; KWP, Bednarek, Salisu; Perraud; Romeu, JWP; Redmond, Armstrong; Broja, Adams. I'd leave Tino out after he played almost 90 mins on Saturday. Give him a start on Saturday. Elyounoussi in for Broja if he isn't fit.
-
I don't rate him as a player but Jack Stephens is the only one we have that is regularly in the referees ear. I do like his passion and it's what the fans want to see. Quite the opposite to Walcott who seems to shirk any responsibility and can't wait to get off the pitch at the end etc etc
-
We should definitely be looking at Joe Worrall in the summer
-
Callum O'Hare wasn't it? Tbh from watching that today he'd be an upgrade on most of our No 10's.
