Bazunu; KWP, THB, Bednarek, Meghoma; Downes, Aribo, S Armstrong; Brooks, Fraser, Adams/Mara. Armstrong has had 3 poor games in a row, maybe he needs a rest. Certainly don't want to see him as a central striker again.

Someone mentioned it on the Bristol City thread but going 3 at the back if Downes is out could be a good shout. Need to get back to being more solid. It might also keep Manning slightly further away from our goal.

Adam Armstrong cannot play as a central striker. He's just so ineffective there.

These spaces seem a lot more open when Downes isn't playing. It's a bit scary how important he is to us.

Does anyone watch enough of Cam Bragg to say whether he'd be a genuine option if Downes is out? I doubt Martin would consider it but Smallbone really can't play that role and Charles seems to be getting worse game by game.

I thought he'd recovered but maybe not.

The Brooks sub was odd, arguably our best player.

I'd certainly get Stu on for Charles.

Armstrong is poor for us as a number 9. Charles has been absolutely horrendous and Smallbone not much better. Rothwell and Brooks look decent.

I think the make or break period is the one that we buggered up earlier in the season. Sunderland, Leicester, Middlesbrough and then Ipswich.

I'm not dropping him. I'm giving him a rest as he looked a bit jaded to me. We have the firepower now to rotate and minimise the risk of injury to our best players.

It's that shot low to the left of him again and it is a big problem. I'd be worried if the coaches haven't picked up on it and surely they are working on it with him.

The last time I looked at the stats he was up there for big chances missed this season. Although Haaland also misses a lot of big chances! (I'm not directly comparing them, obviously)

That's fair enough. He's played lot of games lately though, if we lose him as well as Downes then we are in trouble. Out of the games coming up I'd give Rothwell a go in the 8 on Tuesday and bring Smallbone back in on Friday.

Edozie has been very impressive in the couple of cameos since his injury.

I'd give him a rest for this one. I wouldn't be playing him in the 6 position anyway.

I defend Bazunu on here most weeks but he had plenty of time to re-adjust and deal with that. Just seemed to go in very easily.
