  1. How did Toby get away with that handball in the penalty area today? He was a good 5 or 6 yards away from the player that struck the ball and his hand was in an unnatural position above his head. VAR really is a bit of a shambles in its current state.
  2. Another really positive display. The commitment levels have really shot up over the past few weeks - fair play to Ralph for turning things around. Jack Stephens and JWP look like totally different players and the team as a whole is looking so much more solid. Other than Obafemi (the lad had a bit of a shocker) I can't think of another player who I'd give less than an 8 out of a 10. I thought when Shane Long came on he proved why he is the best partner for Danny Ings. If I was Ralph I'd give players like Bertrand, Bednarek, JWP, Hojbjerg, Redmond and Ings a rest on Saturday. Huddersfield are a really poor side and those guys have put in a serious effort lately. Onwards and upwards.
  3. Agree with this. Vestergaard is actually very composed on the ball and brings it out well for a big guy. As you mentioned he is very slow hence why he struggles in a 2 as opposed to a 3 at the back. If Ralph is looking at playing 3 different formations next season then I think we need a quicker centre back to play alongside Bednarek.
  4. I think 10 million would be a fair price for a player of his ability. Lacks pace and often gets caught out of position but can deliver the occasional decent cross. From what I've seen of Vokins I'd be happy to have him as a backup to Bertrand next season. If we manage to get a combined £15 million for Austin and Targett then I'd be happy with that. It would fund a new first team player.
  5. 3-5-2 Gunn Bednarek Yoshida Bertrand Valery Lemina Hojbjerg JWP Targett Redmond Long Subs - Forster, Ramsay, Stephens, Romeu, Sims, Austin, Ings
  6. On the basis that Vestergaard is still out, I'd start with the 4-2-2-2 that we finished the game with yesterday. We looked a lot more solid in the centre of the park and less shaky at the back. Romeu had a shocker and it's a close call between Ings and Long upfront as Ings was pretty terrible yesterday and Long has actually looked half decent in recent games. Gunn Valery Bednarek Yoshida Bertrand Hojbjerg Lemina Armstrong JWP Redmond Ings Subs: Forster Stephens Ramsey Romeu Sims Long Austin
  7. The poor recruitment has finally caught up with us. We wasted a lot of money on dross and the new owner isn't prepared to put any in to improve the team. Ralph had a bit of shocker again today though. Stephens are Targett are absolute garbage and probably aren't even good enough for the championship. 4 at the back should be the way forward now.
  8. Whilst I do agree to an extebt, I think Ralph expected us to sign a striker and a right back before the end of the window.
  9. McCarthy Valery Vestergaard Yoshida Bednarek Bertrand Romeu Hojbjerg JWP Redmond Don't have a clue who plays upfront as they're pretty much all as bad as each other.
  10. It's clearly going to be between us and Cardiff. Both teams are pretty poor and have a number of tough games left to play. Losing 6 points to them this season could be the decisive factor.
  11. I wonder why Bertrand isn't there. Injury flared up again after the Cardiff game?
  12. Bad day at the office for Ralph but we've seen this at home time and time again over the past few seasons. They problem goes a lot deeper than the manager. Players not up to it and a board that is seemingly happy to see us teetering on the edge of relegation. Every single fan knew we needed a striker, Ralph clearly wanted a striker but yet again the Board are failing us. Ah well, at least we're the net spend champions.
  13. Fair enough if you think it's b******s. Targett has improved but I don't agree that he has been playing "really well" and still feel he is a weak link. I expect Ralph will stick with him this week but wouldn't be surprised to see Bertrand get 20 minutes off the bench and then start against Arsenal in a couple of weeks.
  14. McCarthy Bednarek Stephens/Yoshida Vestergaard Bertrand JWP Romeu Hojbjerg Armstrong Redmond Gallagher 3-5-2 Subs: Gunn, Stephens/Yoshida, Targett, Valery, Slattery, Long, Austin. I'd go for Gallagher as I feel Austin is a better option from the bench. Long was dreadful when he came on for Ings on Saturday. JWP at RWB purely because Valery had a shocker against Murphy in the reverse fixture and I genuinely don't think he's good enough yet. Predicting a 2-0 win.
  15. Get him straight back in on Saturday. It's such a massive game, we need our best team out there. Targett has done ok but that is about it. Bertrand is quicker, better at passing, has better positioning and is a lot more consistent with his crossing.

    Yoshida

Pretty much this. He isn't quite as good on the ball but that is about it. He was sensational away at Chelsea and expect he'll be back in the side against Arsenal. Not sure Ralph will put him straight back in on Saturday.
  17. I was relatively impressed. He's better at winning aerial challenges that I imagined. Decent footwork and kept it pretty simple. More to come from him I think.
  18. One of the reasons we failed to win today. His only real attribute was his tireless running but he doesn't even do that any more.
  19. He isn't fit enough to win a place in the side, not a bad player to have on the bench but if Ings gets injured but not sure he's the type of player Ralph would like to rely on.
  20. The way Ralph sets the team up would suit Bertrand more than Targett, so that certainly wouldn't be the reason if Bertrand does leave (can't see it happening)
  21. This must be a wind up. He gave it away countless times and should have been sent off too.

    Che Adams

Just can't see Birmingham selling him before the end of the season.
  23. I'd rather Fulham got a result against Brighton, mainly because I think they will go down and Brighton are certainly catchable.
  24. Get rid of Bertrand? Good job you're not in charge.
  25. I actually disagree that he gets beaten too easily. I think he's a decent 1 on 1 defender but struggles with his awareness and can't really head the ball. If we're offered £10 million plus I'd take it, on the basis that we're signing a replacement as Valery certainly isn't up to the required standard yet.
