1) it's in the Mail. 'Talks have taken place' could mean 'yeah we rang Southampton and asked but they said no' Do not ever take ANYTHING the media say as gospel truth. They have only one agenda - to get the money in your pocket into theirs. They will (and do) say anything to get you to buy their paper. I'm am seriously starting to lose faith in people who believe everything they read or see on the Internet.

Gutted. Went to bed sulking. Up this morning, over it. My club through thick and thin. Have to move on. I trust Ron and the board to get it right.

FC Midtjylland 1 Saints 0 - Post Match reaction
Mr Biscuits replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Looking thoroughly ******ed off is Fonte. Wtf is going on? -
Welp. I am becoming very very concerned about how we are going to perform this season.

Double post

Tbh, it just reflects their Neanderthal attitude. I personally think that ANY club (including my beloved Saints) no matter where they are on the football pyramid should be deducted points for inexcusable fan behaviour.
-
Really? I would have thought there would have been an argument for needing the space for all those extra fingers and toes, but have it your way.

That's got about 5seats too many on it

Oh don't forget the quarter of a million of the bestest fans who gathered on Southsea when they bought, sorry, 'won' the FA cup
-
Not surprising considering most of them live in the past so having an archaic attitude makes perfect sense.

'The future of this club looks great' muttered 'Arry as he hid a bundle of used tenners in Rosie's dog bowl. He lurched off, twitching and happily uttering 't'riffic' at each lamp post he passed.

This one has to be the best myth of all time

Does there need to be a new European League
Mr Biscuits replied to Mr Biscuits's topic in The Saints
It does occur to me that perhaps just having a 'financial fair play' system in place which is actually realistic and...... Fair.... Would probably solve most of the issue. But then so would taking money out of football. Which should happen shortly after I next get laid (based on current success rate) -
Just thinking about the position we are in - the 'goldilocks' zone of better than most of the Premier League clubs but not quite enough to challenge the top 4. And we keep on seeing our better players getting poached. I just wonder if we will ever cross that gap between the big 4 clubs and the rest of the PL and if the gap is so big that they can be considered to be in their own league? If so would it not be better for them to actually be playing in some sort of European League with the likes of Barcalona and Real Madrid rather than in the PL?

Ever so easy to criticise.

The positive from today is the clean sheet. We'll build on that.

Is it on the radio?

Also interesting to see that Corpy admits to still reading this thread but doesn't actually have the balls to post on here. Hi Corpy, how's League Two and (non) fan ownership working out for you?
-
I used to have to work down there as well. I tend to try to think the best of places before I go there however I rapidly had my attitude adjusted by the people I met down there. There were some nice people but the overwhelming majority were just f*ckwits and ar$eholes with a massive chip on their shoulder who thought the world owed them a living
-
So affluent that the government felt it necessary to appoint a minister to try and sort out the huge problems they have down there. Yet again I find myself astounded at the delusion levels of your average skate.
-
Must be the cup final atmosphere getting to the skates

And I agree that Saints got bankrolled out of league one. But then the situation was very different - Markus was buying a club which had premier league standard infrastructure in place already. The only thing he needed to spend on was the squad really so it was easy for us to move up. The situation down the road is very different - every single aspect of the club needs significant investment (some of it very urgently)
-
What's the downside of the gamble? I reckon they'll be properly stuffed if they don't get promotion this season. The ground won't last much longer as it is - it needs huge investment to be brought up to standard. Bit of a catch 22 for them really -they need the money of a higher league but they also need to comply with the h&s standards of each league they are in. I'm willing to bet that failure to move up this season will be really quite bad for them long term. They should do it with the squad they have, however 'should' doesn't mean 'will'.
