The club won't sell in January, they'll have told Wanyama and Mane to wait till the summer. We will, of course, go on a great run in the latter part of the season and finish 4th having cruised the Capital One cup and pulled off a shock in the FA cup final against Chelsea.

So this weekend I have been attending a small event. One of the other attendees was a 15 year old skate. I didn't particularly take the mickey or pay much attention to him until this morning when he decided to explain to me just why the skates are a much better club......... I tried to be fair and honest until I was informed that 'Fratton Park is a Premier League standard stadium' Once I'd stopped laughing, I politely asked why the young bestest of the bestest had made this claim to which his response was 'Portsmouth were in the Premier League so the stadium is Premier League standard obviously' I really can't find the words to describe the delusion level. Apparently it 'won't be long' until the skates are back in the Premier League and 'stuffing Saints'.

Came with big hopes, totally failed to make it at PL level even though we saw flashes of brilliance from him. Thanks Gaston, but it just didn't work. Club will get what they can for him.

I rather think tat every single bi dipper, plastic or not would campaign for this to be done just so that everyone can feel a little bit more sorry for them

Tbh I wouldn't mind a late season wobble which culminates in a final game of the season where they have to get a win to qualify for the playoffs. And they are up against a team who need the three points to avoid relegation. And they lose, missing the playoffs by a point. The crying about how unfair it all is and how sh!t the squad are would be epic

You know,with the squad they promotion shouldn't be any issue at all. However I'm beginning to wonder if it is going to be the cakewalk everyone is saying it's going to be. With the skates so quick to get on the teams back it is bound to have an effect on performance, and I just wonder if they have enough in the squad to keep going all season

True story: I used to work with a bloke who was called Sam after Sammy Lee. He was a massive plastic Liverpool fan and used to enjoy winding me up about how they were going to take all our best players. I didn't hesitate to ask if he was going to switch allegiance the day Sammy came to work for Saints. Plus the last three seasons have been hilarious fun.

I wonder how much he got paid to write that tripe? And where is this 'premier league high flyers' tag coming from? They spent their way into the PL, spent to stay in the PL and, despite staying there for seven seasons never increased their fan base enough to cover the money they were spending to stay up. They never finished higher than 13th. Hardly tearing up the PL there then..... I just don't get this 'sleeping Giants' tripe that is peddled to all and sundry. They got large amounts of support in the '50's which they haven't even been close to since, conveniently ignore the '90's when they were regularly under 10k attendance each season. Over 60 years is a long time to be sleeping Giants I think.
