What? Play dire football and spend each season in a relegation fight, bumping along the bottom of the PL? Yes we bloody should be expecting to beat teams in the bottom 4 because guess what.... That's what the top sides in the PL do consistently and if this club wants European football performances like today and the one against Bournemouth are utterly unacceptable. I don't care where we were a few seasons ago, it's irrelevant. History is for the skates. Southampton FC are a club in the top half of the PL and the players need to start acting like it in EVERY match, not just when they feel like it.

Bull. If we had come up against them during that run we managed to put together before the enforced break we'd all be sitting here discussing a three goal win minimum. Instead of which we scraped a draw against a team in the relegation zone. Koeman himself said it- we are better than what you saw on the pitch today. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it - this squad is a capable of a far, far better performance than what we saw.and against a team like Sunderland we should be winning comfortably, despite the improvements fat Sam has made. It's great that a point was salvaged however the performance was (yet again) not good enough. And in fact, you only need to see Koeman's post match interview to see this.

Now I've had time to process last night I have the following to say: We know the team is better than this. We have all seen the team play better than this. One result does not make a season. Knowing these three things, it is incredibly frustrating to see the team put in a performance like last night. I really wish Ron had put Tadic on earlier in the game because it was clear that Tadic changed things for the better. I have to say move on now - it's done. Ron got it wrong, the team got it wrong. Please do not lets slip back into that awful run we had where we couldn't do anything right. The team is better than this.

The whole team need to be a lot more ball hungry. The attitude simply has to be 'no, f*ck you, you're not having the ball it's mine'. If players make a mistake they need to get after the ball immediately rather than just stand there and watch it go. Too slow at the start my Arse - our defence has been and should be good enough to soak up that kind of pressure and turn the game round.
