I would say SOME penalties, not all. And definitely most dives I see on a replay are easy to spot. You won't get every one but cutting out the majority would be absolutely fine by me.
-
If the ball is dead, there is plenty of time for a replay. Most crosses and through balls result in some sort of shot on or off target and the ball going out of play. Therefore if a goal is scored and the linos flag is up it would take less time to review and decide than it would for the goalie to bring the ball back into play. And, in fact, by the time the review is done, everyone is nearly ready for the game to start again anyway. Look at the instant replays the commentators get right now - they take seconds to set up and seconds to review all in the time it takes for the game to get going again anyway. It ESPECIALLY should be used to determine a penalty. I hate diving with a passion.

Would that be the majority of 'shareholders' in the trust who only hold a minority stake in the club and are, therefore, irrelevant?

Also his body language is quite agitated

Love how he completely avoids the question

Yep..... 4million just to stand still while all around them up and coming clubs, like Eastleigh, are putting together plans for future-proof modern stadiums on the back of sound financial advice. Scrooge McDuck is going to be putting his hand in his pocket for quite a bit more than 4 million if he wants the skates to get into the Promised Land for the first time in their short career.

I see the rumour mill for the summer transfer window has started early this year

Don't you believe it. This is the ticket to the promised land of the PL win all right thinking football fans will have wanted for the plucky biggest club on the south coast who fell on hard times through absolutely no fault of their own. Get your Skate bingo cards ready because Factless is going to be diddling himself absolutely rotten over this and you can guarantee his next article is going to start something like 'High was the sun and also our hearts as we set forth on our latest venture..... blah, blah....... sleeping giants....... blah blah...... fratton faithful...... blah blah...... ad nauseum' Fair play to them though, they seem to have found the one delusional billionaire who wants to waste his money. I also quite like the 'there will be a member of the Trust on the board who will still have power' idea. Because the power to choose the half time entertainment is really what football is all about, and don't you let anyone say otherwise.

You sir, win the Internet.

I can't see any new single owner being interested in sharing ownership of any club with anyone else. If that was me and someone said 'we'll you can own 52%, The trust owns the rest' my response would be short and to the point. ESPECIALLY considering that any new owner is will need to sink considerable sums of money into the club just to keep it as it is. If they want progression the kipper shed will need significant amounts of money invested just to bring it up to current standards, but realistically needs to be knocked down and rebuilt completely. We've gone over the arguments for and against that and I think it's safe to say that everyone knows rebuilding the kipper shed in its current location isn't going to give them a stadium that matches their ambitions (unless they plan to play League One/Championship standard football for some time to come) Pet project or not, Scrooge McDuck isn't going to be interested in throwing his money into a black hole, he'll want to see a return for his investment. [portsmyth] Having the most passionate fans in world football [\portsmyth] won't earn any owner a single penny more than the stadium is capable of producing in terms of match day revenue. Not only that, he'll have to put in stupid amounts of money to build a squad and coaching team capable playing in whatever league he wants to be in. A decent PL squad is going to cost what? 30-50 million? Maybe less but whatever way you look at it he's buying a basket case club that needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. Hardly what I would term a 'hobby'. Mind you, he's a guy used to dealing with fantasy so he wouldn't be getting involved in anything he hasn't seen before. I just wonder how many portsmyths he's been told and how long it will be before reality kicks in.

Welp. I thought we did well to get the goal back. Was expecting at least two more from Spurs. Yet again the ref makes the wrong call on a potentially game changing moment. Never would have happened with a TMO. Now to see how bad the injury to Gabbiadini is. Rest of the strikers simply have to step up and get scoring.

Let's be honest, they should finally go up this year. But if they fail....again.... wow....... I mean they apparently have the budget to spend on a team constructed specifically to get them out of league two. (Gloss over the fact that this has been apparently true for the past three seasons) A gate of 13-16k each home game should be enough to provide sufficient revenue for this to be true. If they fail again......

Thanks for your input there, you'll find your toys in the corner

Can a mod lock this thread please. Fonte has moved on and so should this forum.

My email to the club concerningpre-game music and atmosphere
Mr Biscuits replied to sifter's topic in The Saints
PA is now audible, so I have no problem with that. The 'My Way' cover is unbelievably bad and corny and I have yet to meet a Saints fan who thinks it's the right thing to do. Even the commentators on Radio Solent think it's rubbish. As for people singing along to it.... I sit in the family section and no one around me does. In fact what usually happens is a chorus of groans along with quite a few comments about how rubbish the song is. The other point I'm going to make about that song is the meaning people draw from it. For some people, myself included, the song is associated with things coming to an end, or a parting of ways. 'My Way' is a popular choice at funerals for this reason. So when I first heard it come over the PA I found myself wondering if this was Kat saying goodbye. The club should have done more research before choosing this song to play just before kick off. Of course that's just my opinion and I know some of you will disagree. -
So basically he's buying generic tops and getting a logo printed on them..... well I suppose I should congratulate whoever came up with that one. I'm sure it will rock the clothing world and Next are holding emergency meetings to work out how to deal with the new kid on the block. In other news I got stuck on the docks at pregate the other day with a skate. I could tell since it was printed all over his hi viz. banter ensued of course, all the standard ones were trotted out - trophies, 4-1 etc. Until I asked which team he supported and pointed out the current team representing that end of the m27 has only been going since 2008 ( or whenever it was) he seemed to get the hump at that. And then he got his paperwork first which, apparently, equated to a 1-0 win to the skates..... the lengths they go to are truly amazing to behold.

Tbh it strikes me that they are like Vegans. As the joke goes: How can you tell if someone is a vegan? Don't worry, they'll tell you.
-
Obviously they're working hard to rebuild their reputation in the local community......
-
A moments rage (for whatever reason) and he's locked up. Hope he's regretting that choice. Just shows why it's always better to walk away.
-
Third pic demonstrates it best - look at the far side of the stadium where the line of stewards is standing. To the left are Man U plastics and to the right are Saints Fans. Says it all.
-
These are the same types who, as kids, believed that getting a medal for participation actually meant something.
-
That twitter thread has bitter skates all over it dragging up everything they can find to prove that they are somehow better than us. Plenty of pics and references to 4-1 and trophies. Doesn't take much to get them going does it
-
Enjoy. I'm quite sure this will have the skates frothing at the mouth
-
What would be great is an aerial view looking straight down, showing the difference between the two sets of fans. Doubt anyone got one of those though

All it takes is effort
